    1. Avoid sleeping on your back if you tend to snore — it can cause your tongue to collapse to the back of your throat (a description that sounds about as unpleasant as the snoring itself) instead, use a body pillow that'll encourage you to sleep on your side and keep your tongue in the front of your mouth where it belongs., Amazon

Promising review: "This is by far the best pillow I've ever had. Since I got it, I've also gotten one for my husband, daughter, and now my father-in-law. We had been planning to get a new mattress because I was waking up every morning with back pain and my husband was waking up several times a night with acid reflux. He also snored quite badly. He has awakened me numerous times. After getting both of us these pillows, all those problems have either gone away or lessened significantly. The extra support made my back pain completely disappear. My husband usually slept on his back, which was bad for his snoring and acid reflux, but he now sleeps on his side 90% of the time, and both problems have almost completely stopped. I love this pillow so much that even after just a few months, I can't imagine sleeping without it! Some advice: don't let anyone else try it because you might not get it back!" —Mystery Lover

Get it from Amazon for $99.95.

    2. If you're not in the mood to bring a person-sized pillow into your twin bed, tape tennis balls to your back for a bit. This will (hopefully) train your body to naturally start sleeping on your side so your nose stops causing a ~racket~ at night.

Promising review: "My wife was beginning to think that she was cursed with sleepless nights because of my snoring. This pillow has cut my snoring down dramatically. It's comfortable. I never realized how much I don't like normal pillows until I got this one. This pillow helped way more than anything else I have used to stop snoring." —Ben B.

    4. Have a hot shower before going to bed to try to help open your nasal cavities... and just to wash your body before jumping into your clean sheets.

Promising review: "These are perfect! Since I'm fussy about the quality and feel of bedding, I read pillowcase descriptions for a month before I chose these. They are lovely, soft, nice quality, wash and dry well, and have a generous size without being too loose. The color is right. When I need sheet sets again, I will be sure to get this brand." —elaine

Get two on Amazon for $10.99 (available in seven colors).

    6. Keep this travel-sized noise cancelling machine by your side when visiting your snoring S.O. The white noise will drown them out so you can get some shut-eye.

The compact size makes this noise canceller incredibly easy to bring with you overnight or on vacations. It has ten unique sounds; fan, white noise, and ocean in varying levels/tones, so you can find the best thing to put you to sleep. Oh, and did we mention? It's also Bluetooth compatible so you can listen to music or make calls through your phone. The built-in battery lasts up to 16 hours on a full charge. Seriously, for the space it takes up in your purse you could nix the Tick-Tacks and have an impressive noise machine with you wherever you go. Why not??

Promising review: "Yay! I have always had to sleep with a fan on. This is a pain in the rear when I'm anywhere but home. Not to mention, the fan dries my sinuses out. But I hate the sound (and I mean HATE the sound) of my husband's snoring. When I received this, I almost laughed because it's this small funny looking machine. BUT MAN OH MAN, does it put out some sound! I do not hear my husband snoring any more, the fan wind doesn't dry me out, and it's small enough to just keep on my night table. I'm traveling with this puppy for sure. There are so many settings you'll be sure to find something you like. I'm sleeping deeper and I'm having dreams again! Great product." —Willow

Get it from Amazon for $29.99.

    7. Invest in an air purifier, which may help cleanse your home of pollutants that can irritate and inflame nasal cavities.

Promising review: "I purchased this purifier because I have trouble sleeping through the whole night, I would start snoring and then wake up. Now I come home from work, turn the unit on in the bedroom, and I sleep through the whole night — no breathing problems at all! It really works! The air feels cleaner. I would buy it again... I'm even thinking of getting another one for my kitchen." —Vladimir

Get it from Amazon for $76.99.

    8. Or use a neti pot to clear out the chaos right at the source.

Promising review: "This is the most seemingly disgusting yet useful product I've ever purchased or probably ever will. I pat myself on the back every time I think about what a job well done I did by buying this." —Kuschel Monster

Get it from Amazon for $11.85.

    9. Chomp down on a tongue stabilizer because sometimes the answer is right on the tip of your tongue. This anti-snoring mouth guard keeps your jaw aligned and your tongue in place when your nose isn't the reason your snoring is in season.

Promising review: "I have sleep obstructive apnea. This device puts a suction on your tongue and pulls it forward. It takes a little while to get used to it. I sleep better with this device than any other. It does come out of my mouth at times, but that's user error. As long as it is in correctly it will relieve the obstruction." —W. E. S.

Get it from Amazon for $17.98.

    10. Exercise your throat by repetitively moving your tongue in different motions/stretches. As we get older, the muscles in our throat weaken and our throats literally become narrower. Exercising like this will help strengthen those muscles and can help reduce snoring without spending a penny.

    11. Throw on a nasal strip that claims to help open up your nostrils so you can breathe deeply, and quietly, all night long.

Promising review: "Since people rarely buy snore strips for their own personal satisfaction, this review comes from the perspective of a previously-sleep-deprived girlfriend, me. These things stop snoring second only to grabbing my boyfriend's nose until he can't breathe and wakes up. Unlike that 'best' option, these do not start arguments in the middle of the night over why 'any sane person' would grab someone's nose. They restore my peaceful slumber, resolve arguments before they've even begun, and (because I get better sleep), make me look better too. Talk about an all-around relationship saver!! Also, if you turn the lights off and then rip open the little packaging, it makes a cool blue spark, which I'm convinced is the anti-snore magic activating." —Nicole

Get them from Amazon for $11.94.

    12. If you have a partner who won't accept that their snoring is enough to keep you from falling asleep, record them at night. This will help address your weariness with facts and may help spring them into action.

This is actually a genuinely useful process, so much so in fact, that there's an app you can use specifically designed to record your snoring!

    13. Plug in a nose vent, helpful little device with some seriously ~sound~ reviews.

Promising review: "Ever since I received this I have been sleeping much better. The nose vent plug is affordable, easy to use, and surprisingly comfortable. I’m used to having to sleep with a huge mask that covers my nose and mouth while I sleep. The nose bent plug was a much-needed change that I have enjoyed every minute of. I would recommend this product to anyone who snores or suffers from sleep apnea. This is not just a review and recommendation coming from another satisfied customer, I also am a RN and I know firsthand the consequences that snoring and/or sleep apnea can have on a person. Give this product a try!

Promising review: "This stuff is AWESOME! Just ask my wife. Because of a snoring problem, I have been using this for quite some time. I spray two squirts before going to sleep and my wife says now I don't snore at all. This has got to be the best stuff on the market for people like me, who keep their spouse awake at night. I was the biggest sceptic of all, but this really does work." —Randy Chenoweth
