Our cat has been a complete terror lately, moving on from shredding our couch to literally tearing the paint off our walls. This seemed like the perfect fix, as it attaches to the wall. I rubbed some cat nip on it and set it down flat to get our cat used to it and then hung it on the wall a few hours later. So far so good, he seemed to take to it really quickly! amazon.com, Mallory Mower / BuzzFeed

The photo on the right is my own collection of cat grass. I started with the small sample grow kit and loved it so much that I've continued to buy refills and full box sets (in natural wood and black) to fill all of my windowsills with grass. One of my cats eats these every morning as a pre-breakfast snack (literally, EVERY morning) and my other cat lounges on the patches in the rope basket for hours each day. This stuff grows fast (the ones in the black boxes are 5 days old) and last a long time (the grass in the rope basket is a month old). This stuff is great, cat people!

Promising review: "I chose these seeds because they're non-GMO, and because other reviewers said they grew easily and quickly – and that's certainly true! I bought this so that my indoor cats could have a grass patch, and today is the first time I've seen one of my cats actually sit in it. HOW CUTE IS SHE. I'm thinking of buying a larger and more shallow box so that they really have room to spread out. Overall, this gets 5/5 stars for me because it does exactly what I needed it to do. It's a great way to challenge your cat and to keep them from overeating/eating too fast. You're gonna be a-maze-d by how much fun they have with this thing!

Promising review: "I was skeptical...however my pictures speak for themselves. My lazy, overweight, senior kitty is pictured with her paws in the box (above, left)! Do they enjoy trying to solve the puzzle? I'm not sure, but either way it certainly keeps them occupied for a while. I really liked the instructions/insert that came with the box. It had some interesting facts and was very clear on how to assemble (and assembly was VERY simple.)" —Waffles

Cat scratching three-post cactus-shaped scratching pole

We got the medium size and it was perfect, the bigger size may good good for a very large cat. The little ball is entertaining. The cactus is only stiff in the middle/bases, the little arms aren't stiff, they are soft and floppy but the cat seems to like biting and flopping them around anyways." —Abigail

First, it has three tunnels, whereas most are just a single one. One of the cat tunnels has a ball with a bell in it that the cats can bat around. One of the tunnels has a 'crinkly' sound, which is fun to listen to when they walk through it. I have three cats with different personalities, and all three of them were checking it out and playing in it after having it out for only about five minutes." —KR

    amazon.com, amazon.com

Is hanging out all day in the house with us THAT bad?!

Promising review: "I have a feral cat who has been hanging around for a few years. She looked thin and Iowa winters can be brutal, so I bought the house. SHE LOVES IT!!! The house went together easily and we left it on lower deck next to the house without the doors. After two days of sniffing around she was sleeping in it. When the weather turned colder, I calked all the seams, put leftover hardwood flooring planks underneath, put on the plastic doors and put it flush with the house (under a porch, on a lower deck). Our feral cat disappeared for a few days after the improvements. Suddenly, on a rainy cold night POOF she was there, sound asleep inside. She has gained weight and looks chubby warm." —Spicyrunner

Promising review: "My baby LOVES these! They're super soft, well made, and she immediately started drooling and playing with them. They're super cute – a great size for her to roll around and play with. With these being so plushy and soft I only worry about how quickly she’ll be able to pull them apart in the long run, but I suppose that’s why they come six to a pack. I will definitely be buying more when she wears these out." —Riley Coyote

Promising review: "My little dude loves this tree. I already knew he liked hiding and stalking, so this was an obvious choice. He has a separate scratching post so it’s fine that this one doesn’t have that as a main feature. He’s about 12 pounds and the tree is quite sturdy for him but it sways a little like a real tree. It’s definitely a great addition for his nightly zoomies. He also hides in it and swats at me when I walk past it." —A. Frandl

Promising review: "When you buy something for your cat, you wonder, 'Am I a total idiot? What if my cat turns up his wet, furry little nose at this?' Well, I wondered the same thing. A cat crib? You gotta be kidding! Sure, it looks cute –all those potentially posed photos of cats lounging luxuriously in their posh, kitty-sized hammocks. No way will this work. But guess what? Not only do my cats LOVE it. They more or less duke it out – who can claim the cat crib first. And yes, b'gosh, it's cute. Cats just know if something is for them – something which they actually like – and this is it. One cat is chunky (20 pounds!) and one is skinny (eight pounds) and they both adore it." –Broderwriter

Promising review: "It's a great size for using in little nooks and corners. IT works perfectly in our deep window sills (his fav spot) but is still slim enough to fit behind the shades (pictured above, right). I used the drywall anchors provided and it feels very stable. Simple! The longest part was waiting for the drill to charge!! Make sure you mount it high enough to give them the stretch they tend to want with vertical scratching!" —afK2

Cat playing with long, rainbow fabric teaser toy hanging from pole
    Amazon

Promising review: "This is one of the top recommendations I make as a certified cat behaviorist and veterinary technician. I find that many cats who are not attracted to most routine toys are easily attracted to this toy. The toy holds the attention of most cats that would otherwise not play with a toy. The array of colors and the way that it is made provides endless amounts of fun for both the handler and the cats involved. I hang these outside of the cat roaming room at the animal shelter and allow volunteers to play with the cats. It has a long reach which worked great for people who were in wheel chairs or were disabled. I find that this toy is very durable and can last for years...even with routine use! There are not replacement feathers or parts needed, which makes this a cheap toy to use." —Siamic Consulting

    Price: $3.49

This has a nonskid bottom, so your cats can be as aggressive as they want without it slipping under them. It's also a great option for multi-cat households.

Promising review: "Straight out of the box, all five of my cats took to it, RIGHT AWAY! If only I was the genius who would have thought of this product, but I'm ecstatic nonetheless. I have a very timid cat who gets pushed out of everything, as you can see in the group picture (above, left); but later, she got to investigate and played for a good half hour! I can't get her to play with anything alone, so this was huge after seven whole years. I always have to instigate play with her, until this came into our lives today! I am so completely pleased. When she attacks the holes and hears the hook and loop pull, she freaks out and runs circles around it for her next attack. You won't be let down. This is the best entertainment ever, especially for the cat lady and cat dad involved. We hurt from laughing. JUST BUY IT!" —Katie

    Price: $46

I have used it on tile floors and carpet and it does a great job of getting the pet hair, lint, and dirt. I like this so much better than our traditional push broom. It is very easy to clean after use just using my hand, unlike our old broom. It also has a telescoping handle so that you can adjust it to whatever height you need. There is also a squeegee for doing the house windows and the car windows. I highly recommend it." —Joyce V

When I first got it, I thought they'd tire of it, compared to their cat trees, as it's lower to the ground. But they absolutely love it, even more as time goes by. I wondered initially if this unusual bed would be worth the space in my small place, but now I'm so glad to have it. It's attractive enough that I've put it in my dining room. Now they choose the ball bed instead of the table. Highly recommend." —Gadget Girl

Turns out it basically hypnotizes her to sleep. She crawls to it, kneads it and eventually her meows turn to silence. I wish the purring lasted longer but for $10 it is a lifesaver. She's pooped on it a couple times so I've had to throw it in the washer and dryer minus the battery pack. It's held up great." —S Leytem

After the second application, her dandruff is GONE. I'm dumbfounded. I dunno how, but it works wonders! We spray her down and then brush her. She is so soft and shiny! Promising review: "The videos showed a frisky cat happily chasing this through the house. My cat figured out that she can just lay there and bat at it, occasionally scooping a piece of food into her mouth, like a giant, smarter-than-average blob. Oh well. She is usually too lazy to try to get all the food out, so she isn't scarfing down the kibble at the alarming rate she used to, and since we use this as her 'breakfast,' she has something to do all day. She eats high-protein, soft food for dinner, so it's not exactly like she needs kibble anyway. But our vet recommended we give it a try, and after about four months she actually has lost a little bit of weight. I am now contemplating buying one of these for myself (haha)!" —Rachel A.

Even after the first use we could see a big difference. I don't use it as directed, maybe once a day but it still works great. Will absolutely buy again. Promising reviews: "I used this harness to train an 8-week-old kitten. I was training the kitten for nursing home visits so he could provided therapy to the people who lived there. The harness fit very well and was easily adjustable. The kitten did not even pay attention to it after it was put on." —Zachariah Atteberry

Promising review: "This harness is very secure, yet still allows my cat to have a full range of motion. She hated the process of putting it on and adjusting it at first, but now she comes running whenever I pick it up." —Krystal

Promising review: "We ordered a few of these to help put the finishing touches on our second 'cat wall'. We've ordered several pieces from Catastrophic Creations in the past but this is the first time we've ordered the these. They're well made and easy to install and exactly what we were looking for! From past experience with Catastrophic Creations other products I expect they'll be long-lasting as well." —Bill Numerick

    42. A pet camera with two-way audio, night vision, and a laser that'll make it easy to check in on your cat's house-sitting skills.

    Amazon

Promising review: "My wife always used to ask me to take pictures/videos of our cat when she wasn't at home, so this was a perfect fit for us. I love that we both have the app and can each look at and play with our cat when at work or traveling. I also love the 'motion detection' which basically records a video when there's any movement at home and sends you a notification, so I get tons of fun videos that I share with my family (and I also feel a bit safer). Video quality is good. The laser takes a bit of getting used to but the cat loves it. The design is great, it fits well with our interior and is pleasant to touch and unpack. I haven't tried any similar products to compare but don't think I need to anymore – we're loving this and sticking with it." —Markiyan

    43. And finally, a cat feeder that'll encourage your kitty to eat more slowly while also engaging their natural hunting instincts.

    Mallory Mower / BuzzFeed

I started a hunting system for my cats when I felt like they were getting lethargic during the winter. One of our cats was overweight because he would sit and eat the dry food left out when he was bored. With these he'll "hunt," eat one, and not eat again until he's ready to go hunting. I've written a full review on this clever feeding system before because I refuse to stop recommending it (#1)!
