    1. A tube of MAC's Viva Glam lipstick that just might turn you into a red lip lover, thanks to its all day wear and comfortable finish.

    Rachel Dunkel / BuzzFeed

"To me, red lipstick is synonymous with Viva Glam. It's been my go-to and, now that I'm thinking about it, pretty much only red lipstick since I first swiped it on many, many years ago. Put on alone, it's a deep red in a perfect, velvety matte — never drying but boy does it STAY on. Applied over some basic lip balm (as in the photo above), the color brightens a bit and the texture is smooth and absolutely heaven. My personal style has changed a lot since Viva Glam and I originally crossed paths, but it's remained a constant in my purse, always ready to polish off a look and make me feel like I can take on the world." —Rachel Dunkel

Price: $18.50 (available in two other shades as well).

    2. A pair of Commando faux leather leggings (seen here in embossed snake print and plain black leather) with *no* seam around the hip like so many leggings have for a ~seamless~ look but stretchy-beyond-stretch comfort — without ever sagging at the waist.

    BuzzFeed / Maitland Quitmeyer

"My two modes are overly-dressed up in a dramatic dress or wearing leggings and an oversized blazer/sweater. There is no in between. So I'm always looking for leggings that aren't just regular old black spandex (my favorite of those are the Target Champion leggings tho of course!!!) so it doesn't look like I'm wearing the same pants four days a week. A LOT of leather (and other) leggings have that seam around the hip that keeps the waist nice and snug, but makes it clear that you ARE, in fact, not wearing 'real pants.' And that to me, is the true magic of Commando leggings: they have NO hip seam, but the waist stays snug ALL DAY, *wear after wear*, with no! slipping! and I don't know how they do it!

I bought these plain black faux leather leggings last year and they've quickly become a wardrobe staple. And now that snake print is the Biggest Trend right now, and I saw these bbs in the perfect greyish taupe color, I knew I had to have them too. AND they have this cool, like-real-leather reptiley texture. They look so so so expensive IRL. I get tons of compliments on them, but I also stay ridiculously comfy all day. THAT, my friends, is a win-win." —Maitland Quitmeyer

Prices: Get the plain black leather for $98 (available in sizes XS–XL and in oxblood) and the snakeskin for $118 (available in sizes M–XL and in solid black embossed croc). Check out all the styles of Commando leggings available at Nordstrom for more options.

    3. A pair of waterproof Hunter boots that can handle all the rain, snow, and slush I can stomp through but still look like relatively normal shoes that I can wear around the office.

    John Mihaly / BuzzFeed

"I learned a lot about 'fashion' (re how to dress myself) from my father. While he didn’t have a deep closet, he always seemed to wear just the right thing for the right occasion, especially inclement weather. One of the few things from his collection that I could never get down with though, was galoshes (aka gumshoes, rubbers, or overshoes, whatever you want to call them).

In theory, galoshes make a lot of sense: Put them on over some nice shoes, get wet, take them off, shoes stay dry. But in practice, they were absolute murder to put on and take off and provide zero traction on slippery terrain. Since wearing Wellingtons around the office is a little much and packing an extra pair of shoes isn’t up for discussion, what’s a boy to do on a rainy day?

After a long search, I discovered these Hunter Original Refined Waterproof Chelsea Boots. They look enough like (stylish) regular shoes, they slip on and off with ease (which is great for not tracking in any mud) and most importantly they keep everything nice and dry from the ankle on down." —John Mihaly

Price: $155 (available in sizes 7–13)

    4. A blue blazer so comfy and versatile, you might find yourself wearing it at least once a week.

    BuzzFeed / Maitland Quitmeyer

"I first fell in love with this blue blazer when I styled it with more pieces form the Atlantic Pacific x Halogen collection. I recently have decided that I need more blazers in my closet because they’re so easy to throw on and head to work, and this one pushed me out of my comfort zone a bit with the color.

I love it because it feels super thick and high quality (and warm!) and fits well. It looks great with a whole monochromatic outfit, but I’ve found that I can also wear it in so many other ways. Like on a more casual day, I’ll just pair it with a pair of jeans and a white tee for a classic look with an edge.

I honestly feel like when you put on a blazer, it increases your confidence and makes you feel like a boss in seconds. Seriously, I think my productivity goes up when I wear this thing. This blazer is a bit pricier than I would normally purchase, but it fits like a glove, and I know I’ll be able to wear it for years. It’s fabulous like the rest of the collection (which I recommend as well)." —Abby Kass

Price: $149 (available in sizes 0-16 and in red)

    5. A Patagonia fleece pullover to keep you toasty warm (hello wind-resistant collar!) and cute (hello contrast cuffs!) on fall-into-winter walks.

    BuzzFeed / Samantha Jacobson

"I bought this sweater back in September in preparation for a camping trip I planned with my partner. It’s cozy, keeps me warm on chilly (28-40° days), and has cute little details I love, like the snap-up button-up color and color-contrasting cuffs! The collar is wind-resistant, which means I don’t have to wear a scarf unless it’s reallly brutal outside. I hike a lot, and a good fleece pull-over is a worthy investment for me; because it allows me to hike without wearing a bulky winter coat. I’m 5’8,” 145 lbs, and I got a size medium. A small would have fit me fine, but I have a small dog who gets cold very easily, and I like my pullovers a little oversized so I can carry her around inside like a kangaroo when we are out and about and she has had enough of the cold (which is nearly every day in the winter lol). So the medium is perfect to keep us both warm! This has become my favorite sweater of the season and I wear it all the time now." —Harper Hendrickson

Price: $119 (available in sizes XS–XXL and seven colors)

    6. A pair of Lucky Brand booties with a low stacked heel and cushioned footbed for a versatile option you can truly wear almost all year long — and with almost every outfit.

    Heather Braga / BuzzFeed, Nordstrom

"I have these babies in both black and toffee — they are a staple in my winter and fall wardrobes. I'm not sure what I'd do without them, honestly. They're so versatile and truly so comfortable. I'm not a girl who is very comfortable in heels, so the fact that these have a TEENY tiny block heel I can walk around wearing without feeling like I'm going to teeter over is a game-changer. I often refer to them as my 'adult' booties, since they make me feel like a refined, classy lady. I love that they have two side zippers, making them super easy to get on and off. They fit true to size and I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a basic bootie to wear throughout multiple seasons." —Heather Braga

Price: $99.90 (originally $128.95; available in sizes 5–10, regular and wide, and three colors).

    7. A Dagne Dover duffle to make traveling wayyyyy more of a breeze — just look at that handy dandy sleeve that slips right over the handle of your wheeled suitcase!

    BuzzFeed / Sarah Han

"I initially discovered the Dagne Dover duffle through my friend/coworker, Emma, but since her review and some 1.5 years later, the Carryall Duffle has gotten an important upgrade — a sleeve that lets you slide the duffle right over your suitcase handle! An eternal struggle of mine is balancing and rebalancing my bag or tote on top of my suitcase, so I knew right then and there that this duffle would be the perfect carry-on bag. (P.S. The backpacks also come with a luggage sleeve in case that's more of your style, or you don't need as much space as me, a nervous overpacker.)

I'm obsessed with the neoprene material; it gives off a very cool, easygoing look that can definitely take a little rain and some mindless tossing with no problem, and it's also super flexible and expandable to fit whatever's inside — which is A Lot. I've used this bag solo for a long weekend trip, but the true test is using it for an international trip, because when I go to somewhere like Seoul, you best believe I fly there with a mostly empty bag and fly back with a stuffed bag filled with knick-knacks (as pictured) — and especially, any of the smaller, more delicate things that I would rather not risk being squeezed in my suitcase will go in the duffle. There's also a padded laptop sleeve that comfortably fits my 13" Macbook Air (but it fits up to a 15" laptop), a big, zippered pocket adjacent to the sleeve, as well as two roomy side pockets where I put whatever I need to grab at a moment's notice. And there's even a removable nylon shoe bag! It's stylish, colorful, sturdy, and utilitarian-focused. We love to see it!" —Sarah Han

Price: $185 (available in three colors, and also available in extra small, small, medium, and extra large sizes).

    8. A pair of Madewell curvy-fit jeans you miiiiiight just want to buy in every wash and rise. Just sayin'.

    BuzzFeed / AnaMaria Glavan

"I love good denim but sadly, good denim is hard to find, particularly if you have an hourglass figure. Gaping waistbands and denim with no retention is actually the bane of my existence and I struggle (oh how I struggle) to find a pair of jeans that don’t suck. And while the journey was long, I have finally found them: the Madewell curvy jeans.

These jeans are thoughtfully designed with a contoured waistband (read my lips: no more gaping) and purposely have extra room in the asset and thigh region so that you won’t have to go up a size in order to get something that fits your legs but is just way too big on your waist. Just think: No more belts digging into your belly button! I’ve also washed and dried them a million times and they’re literally the exact same as they were the day I bought them. Plus, these are actually high-waisted and not high-rise, a distinction that makes a huge difference when it comes to defining your waist and allowing you to wear super cropped tops without exposing your entire torso.

I cannot stress enough how much I love these jeans and I have about four pairs and counting. They wash well, don’t stretch out, and are available in too many good styles and colors to pass up." —AnaMaria Glavan

Price: $98+ (available in sizes 23–35 and eight washes and rises)
