Get it from Amazon for $8.96+ (available in 50 colors and patterns).

Promising review: "I am that girl who wakes up in the morning with a HUGE knot in the back of my head! I DREAD getting out of the shower, with a wide tooth comb and painfully brushing out my hair. It takes about 15-20 minutes! With this new brush, at first I couldn't believe it was actually brushing my hair (no pain) by the end of a few minutes, ALL of my knots were gone and my hair felt silky and smooth! WOW! Thank you Wetbrush!" —Chrissy

    2. A whipped leave-in conditioner formulated with coconut water to smooth the outer cuticle of your hair for shine, shine, and more shine — and no frizz.

A reviewer with long, defined and shiny curls

    3. A gentle edge brush with a comb on one side and a boar bristle brush on the other to shape and smooth your edges for a gorgeous finish.

    Amazon, amazon.com

Get it from Amazon for $1.69.

Promising review: "I thought how funny it would be to buy one of these 'cause, just use an old toothbrush right? For years I’ve done this until seeing this product, what sold me was the double ended feature. Both useful and necessary for kinky curly hair. I immediately knew based on the appearance and texture of the bristles, that they were boar bristles. It’s firm but comfortable, I’ve even used it all over to smooth some fly-away hairs when it was slapped into a bun. Now, I laugh cause I should have gotten one sooner. Haha. Jokes on me. ...No regrets." —Free spirited

    4. A L'Oreal *eight-second* lamellar water rinse-out treatment reviewers swear by for next-level shine, softness, and just all-around "is THIS my hair?!"–ness.

    amazon.com, amazon.com

Get it from Amazon for $8.97.

Promising review: "I don’t usually do reviews on products, but for this one I absolutely have to. I have 3c type hair and struggle with a lot a breakage, unmanageability, and moisture. When my mom mentioned this product to me I didn’t take her seriously because of the simple fact that we have two completely different hair textures. I never would of thought this brand would work on my hair. I have always used ethnic hair products and stayed away from brands such as this one because of the alcohol consumption. I have never in my 22 years felt my hair like this. I feel like I have a completely different head of hair. This product is so amazing and I will FOREVER be using this product in my hair regimen. Thank you so much!! ♥️" —Theressa Hailey

    5. A L'Oreal blowout priming spray that'll cut down your drying time while protecting your hair from heat damage (because your arms don't need a whole workout when you're trying to get ready), all while achieving salon-quality softness.

The bottle with text "cuts dry time, heat protection"
    Amazon

Get it from Amazon for $3.99.

Promising review: "I use this every time I blow dry my hair. Even with my thick hair I can have it completely dry in less than five minutes. Leaves the hair feeling smooth and soft. I even find that I don't need to restyle my hair the next day even after sleeping on it." —blackrose

    6. A canister of Batiste dry shampoo so your third day hair (or fifth day hair) can look as good as when it's freshly washed and styled. *Plus* it adds a boost of volume.

    instagram.com

Get the original scent from Amazon for $6.49 (available in tons of scents and colors for blending into hair).

Promising review: "Tried the rest, this one is the best. I have long, thick hair that usually stays pretty clean if I wash it every other day, but I've been trying to make curls last the elusive third day. I've tried several kinds of spray dry shampoo and always found that they either didn't do a good job absorbing the oil, or stayed white no matter what I did to rub them in, often both. I tried the original formula/scent, & I think it smells lovely. The spray goes on white (I didn't try the tinted kind) & then you massage it in for 30 seconds & BOOM. Body & volume like crazy, no greasy spots. This is definitely going into the new 'must have' for me. I can't emphasize this enough, I have used it on clean hair just to boost the volume!" —Susurrus

This won best inexpensive dry shampoo on BuzzFeed Reviews!

    7. A nourishing blend of oils like avocado, castor, argan, and olive to promote hair growth, prevent breakage and split ends, and seal your hair — all within an episode of your favorite sitcom. That's right, just leave it in under a cap and heat for 20 minutes.

    The bottle of oil
    Kinky Tresses

Get it from Kinky Tresses for $9.

Promising review: "This oil really surprised me. My attitude with oils was always, an oil is an oil. But there is something with this oil combination that makes a big difference in my hair. Even though it's an oil it makes my hair feel so hydrated, I can't explain it. It just works. I buy 3 bottles at a time now." —Candice K.

    Amazon

Get it from Amazon for $6.99+ (available in six colors).

Promising review: "This is great!!! I always hate having the towel fall off my head, plus a normal towel is actually damaging for your hair. This just works so well, stays on, and reduces frizz. I had to buy a few more because I love it so much. Seriously, everyone with hair past your ears needs this." —Kate

    10. A hair-smoothing gel cream stick (it's like a mascara wand!) to control any pesky flyaways for a polished updo — without making your roots look dirty or greasy.

A reviewer's before/after of a ponytail with flyaways, and then all the flyaways smoothed back
    amazon.com

Get it from Amazon for $7.98.

Promising review: "I have super fine hair and have tons of flyaways and so does my daughter. Whenever I pull my hair back it always looks messy. I tried this product on a day I decided that it would be ponytail day. Usually, within an hour I have tons of fly aways and it looks like I didn't brush my hair before I pulled it up. This is not the case anymore. It looks polished for the whole day. My daughter's hair looked just as nice when she left for school than when she got home from school. This is a product that will be a staple in our home from now on." —Mel

    11. An Aussie deep conditioner that'll work in just three minutes (perfect for an in-shower karaoke sesh) to revive the driest hair, detangle, and add body and shine — thanks jojoba and avocado oils!

Promising review: "Love it! Used it once and the next morning, while rushing kids to school, a few people complemented my hair. I hadn't even brushed it, and it reaches the middle of my back. It looked managed, full and healthy after one use. I tend to have 'fly aways' or frizzies popping up, but even after sleeping, my hair looked groomed. This has been my go to off/on for nearly 30 years to help deep condition and repair my dry, damaged hair." —DeborahMcGrath

    amazon.com

Get a set of five clips from Amazon for $9.99 (available in four lengths and 34 colors).

Promising review: "I CANT BELIEVE ALL THE MONEY I SPENT on natural hair extensions until I got this ones. OMG I'm so amazed by how natural they look. They are super voluminous and soft. I bought two since my hair is really short and i like to use a huge amount of hair, but even with one you can rock lots of hairstyles. Thank you so much for this product!!! In the picture I'm wearing only one and you can tell how good they are." —JE

    BuzzFeed / Bek O'Connell

This is the same brand that makes the MIlky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask so many people swear by (and it looks damn cool). One reviewer even says this is *better* than Olaplex No. 3 ($28).

Get it from Amazon for $8.28.

Promising review: "I've been very careful when lightening my hair, but the straw feeling is sometimes inevitable when bleached. THIS PRODUCT IS MAGIC. I've always gone to my hairdresser when coloring so I've been fortunate to have my hair stay pretty nice but this made a world of a difference. My hair is like silk, or soft butter. So incredibly soft and shiny, I feel like a walking hair commercial. My hair feels so moisturized and healthy, just as soft if not softer than my hair was prior to coloring (been highlighting for 5 years now). Will be buying more before I run out, I will never stop using this product. FYI my natural color is the dark brown at the roots and my hair looks healthier than a natural blonde IMO :) ADD TO YOUR CART YOU WONT REGRET. After you shampoo, load your hair up and do the rest of your shower, heck have it be a long shower bc you deserve it, and rinse out with lukewarm water." —Meghan Davey

    amazon.com, amazon.com

Get it from Amazon for $5.69.

Promising review: "I've tried EVERY product available for black or biracial women. All pretty expensive and none really worked. I did not have high hopes for this because it was SO cheap, but I've tried all Cantu products including co-wash, deep conditioning mask, and this curl activator — and I can honestly say I do not recognize my hair! It's like I'm wearing a wig or weave. My curls are so defined and soft and perfect. It's really unreal! I seriously cannot say how much I love this product AND it's SO cheap!! In this case you DON'T get what you pay for... you get SO much more!!" —Amazon Customer

    BuzzFeed

I HAVE NOW FOUND IT!! I can now curl my hair on a humid day and still have curls the next day. This STUFF IS A-MAZING!!! A little goes a long way. And is smells fantastic! You don't smell like you've just sprayed a gallon of sticky Aquanet on your head. You know the smell.. I've had everyone I know buy it and they all love it too. If you're like me, BUY IT! A reviewer with grey strands at their forehead on the left, and on the right with all the greys covered and matching their brown hair
    amazon.com

I'm not grey (yet) but my mom swears by this spray to cover up her roots between single processes — and it looks great!

Get it from Amazon for $7.39+ (available in eight colors).

Promising review: "Love this stuff! Where has it been my whole life? I have been coloring my roots like a mad-woman having no idea that this stuff existed. What a life saver. My hair grows super fast (literally an inch a month) so I was constantly coloring my roots. Now, I go to the salon less frequently and use this to cover my gray in-between. I do recommend using this BEFORE applying make-up. Apply and blend into hairline with a make-up sponge. For roots on top, just simply spray. Works awesome. I do wish the spray came out slower. That is my one complaint. If it came out slower, you could control it better." —AK

Promising review: "These things are AWESOME. I have very long, fine/pin-straight hair and these curlers gave my hair so much bounce. Since I wash my hair every other day I used these when my hair was dry and left them in overnight. I was expecting my hair to look like a frizzy poodle mess...but no. Since my hair is so long I didn't use a size smaller than the orange ones and I have perfect wavy curls. I did brush the curls out a bit with a round brush because I don't personally care for perfect ringlets. Results are awesome!! Love love love!" —Brianna

Promising review: "Life saver of a hair tie. My hair is a couple inches short of four feet long, and my wife said these are the only ones she would use on my hair. No matter how far they are stretched, they shrink right back down to size. I'm a roofer and even with the wear and tear of everyday work, they are very durable." —716icko

    25. A John Frieda sea salt spray so you can pretend that summer isn't about to end. Keep it going with beachy, effortless waves that look like you just came from the seaside, plus the most delicious coconut smell ever.

    Amazon, amazon.com

Promising review: "One of my favorite hair products. I have fine, wavy hair, but it tends to be frizzy if I just let it air dry on its own. This product contains the frizz. They product has helped me reduce my reliance on blow dryers and flat irons to style my hair." —Felicia Martin

Since purchasing it, I have cut down my use on shampoo and conditioner by HALF. I have long, color treated, mildly damaged hair, so I used to go through shampoo and conditioner like WATER. Now I don't feel so guilty about purchasing more expensive products because this little tool makes it go SUCH a long way. It lathers beautifully, cleans my scalp, and distributes conditioner evenly. Also, the feeling is spine-tingling, literally like having a tiny hair stylist just washing your hair for you. Promising review: "The best hair ties I've ever used. I have really long thick hair, and the regular goody hair ties I used to get at the store would always lose their elasticity, and my ponytail would not stay in place. The scrunchie with text "saving my hair from damage, one sleep at a time)
    BuzzFeed / Maitland Quitmeyer

Reader, I love these scrunchies for my curly-frizzy-coarse and dry dry dry hair. I travel in them (they saved my hair on a looooooong set of flights to and from Australia this past January), sleep in them EVERY NIGHT, and I even wear them out when my hair is dirty and it's ~low bun time~ to dress it up a bit. I have absolutely noticed a reduction in breakage and the strands that cascade to the floor when I take my hair down in the morning for styling. If you're looking for a budget-friendly option to just add a little TLC to your hair care, I absolutely recommend these bbs. And in several months of constant use, there's been no stretching out, even though I have quite a bit of hair.

    amazon.com

Get it from Amazon for $5.15.

Promising review: "Great product! This shampoo removed months/years of product build-up in my hair that I didn't even know I had. After just one wash, my hair felt lighter, finer, more voluminous, and I needed less styling products to achieve the same results. But be careful not to use this too often as it can dry out your hair. I have long, dark fine hair and I use this about once every 2 weeks, or once every 4-5 washes." —Kat

    32. A travel size of Wonder Curl's Get Set Jelly with aloe leaf juice and pro-vitamin B5 to define curls and coils and protect them from humidity, so they stay fresh and defined all day (and for days after).

    Wonder Curl

Promising review: "I was recently introduced to this gel during my very first appointment at a salon that specializes in curly hair. In all honesty, I had given up on using hair gel to define my curls during the early stages of my natural hair journey because the gel available in most stores would either flake horribly or make your hair sticky or hard. They were terrible. Not this gel. It's truly wonderful. It will do what you ask it to do without the flaking, stickiness, or hardness. I have basically a 4A curl pattern and it does a great job of defining my curls. I typically wear a wash and go and it lasts until I wash my hair again. My curls are defined even after my hair gets smushed overnight due to the bonnet. I typically use homemade shea butter to stretch my hair out again. No more struggle with my hair before I have to go to work." —Angela Taylor

Get a two-ounce jar from Wonder Curl for $5 (also available in a larger size for $15).
