1. MAC Matte Lipstick in Chili

maccosmetics.com

"I don't usually feel comfortable wearing lipstick because I think drastic colors make me look like a geisha. But I LOVE this burnt red color by MAC. It goes on easily and evenly and the matte finish makes me feel classy AF when I wear it."

2. Make Super Matte Lip Pencil

makebeauty.com

"Every day I put on lipstick and every day I use this pencil on top of that lipstick. It makes shiny lipstick look matte and matte lipstick look EVEN MATTE-R (yes, that's possible). It also makes my lipstick last much, much longer."

Mallory McInnis

3. Diorshow Mascara in Purple

dior.com

"I have green eyes, and purple is supposedly green's complement, so I was told to wear it to accentuate my eyes. I LOVE this one because it's a deep plum, so it's not noticeably colorful, but when the light hits my eyelashes the right way, I get a ton of compliments from people who notice the purply tint."

Terri Pous

4. Hourglass Dim Light Powder

hourglasscosmetics.com

"This is the priciest beauty item I've bought in a LONG time but it's lasted a full year (and I still have a decent amount left!) and it's been worth every penny. Though the 'dim' name is not very pretty (especially when the other colors are called things like 'radiant' and 'ethereal'), when I put it on with a fluffy brush after doing my makeup, it looks like I just used an Instagram filter, but IRL."

Rachel W. Miller

6. Pacifica Multi-Mineral BB Cream

pacificabeauty.com

"A natural product line that I love (Whole Foods is my Sephora). It gives a very refreshing glow to the skin by evening the tone/textures and adding a nice extra element that is a tiny bit of shimmer, which I usually hate, but it is *just* right."

7. Trish McEvoy High Volume Mascara

trishmcevoy.com

"This is a bit pricey for mascara, but it's actually amazing. It forms these things called ~water resistant TUBES~ around your lashes, which make it basically impossible to smudge or run or even flake. It also goes on super easy with no clumps, lasts 24 hours, and makes tiny short lashes look long and thick. THEN when it comes time to remove it, those tubes just kind of dissolve and fall off in pieces with warm water or eye makeup remover (it sounds confusing, I'm not sure how to explain better) but it's just surprisingly easy to take off for being so long-lasting and thick. It's been a life-saver with watery winter eyes!"

Caroline Kee

8. Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer

kiehls.com

"This stuff saved me after last winter completely dried out my skin. It's somehow manages to be seriously hydrating while still feeling light enough to wear under foundation or on its own. Also, unlike most other SPF moisturizers I've tried, it dries cleanly (not greasy!) and doesn't smell like sunscreen. My only gripe is the price tag — but a little goes a long way, and the smallest ($21) bottle lasted me awhile."

Melissa Harrison

9. Wet N Wild Megaslicks Balm Stain

wetnwildbeauty.com

"I love the way lipstick looks on me, but I hate constantly having to reapply. So, when my mom — who shares my pale lips and distaste for high-maintenance makeup — told me I had to try this balm stain, I did. This stays put ALL. DAMN. DAY. I’ve worn this stain every day since I first tried it. It’s ridiculously low maintenance, inexpensive, easy to apply, and the colors are so pretty. As always, mom knows best."

Julia Reinstein

10. Glossier Boy Brow

glossier.com!/products/boy-brow

"This cream-wax hybrid eyebrow gel does everything in just a few swipes — adds fullness, color, and hold. It's best if you're looking for a super-natural way to amp up your brows without all the stiffness."

Chrissy Mahlmeister

12. BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream

bareescentuals.com

"It changed my relationship with face makeup for life. I struggled with BB cream because it ended up being too thick, and tinted moisturizers never did much for me. This one has a little shimmer, goes on super smooth (almost lotion-esque) with more than enough coverage. I love that it never looks like you're wearing makeup (my goal), just kinda smooths everything over to even you out. Plus, SPF 30!"

Alison Roman

13. Bobbi Brown Under Eye Corrector

"I have dark circles under my eyes on the regs due to dumb allergies and also the Netflix 'next episode in 15 seconds' feature. I put this color corrector on to cancel the purple and then top it with the equally amazing Nars Radiant Concealer (#15 on this list). The result? NO CIRCLES! I look properly refreshed (or at least properly caffeinated)."
