2. Use the right highlighter. It's essential to use a highlighter that best complements your skin tone: fair skin looks best with champagne tones, light-medium with pink champagne tones, olive skin with golden tones, and dark skin with terracotta tones.

3. Be careful to only use highlighter where it will catch light, so, on your cheekbones, along your temples, down the bridge of your nose, and above your cupid bow. By doing this you will be sure to enhance your natural features.

4. Tip for oily skin: only use matte products, like bronzer and blush, and only use a shimmery highlighter. Use this same idea for the majority of your other makeup too, including primer and foundation.

5. Use a powder formula on top of cream highlighter. This will help the shimmer impact. Start by dipping a fan brush into the product, then dust over the same areas where the cream highlighter was applied.
