Beat the winter blues before they begin, and fill your bedroom with some healthful light. Try a Himalayan salt crystal lamp to naturally purify the air and improve both your mood and sleep patterns.

5. Clean out your closet.

Your "ugh, no, too much work" alarm might've just gone off, but trust us on this one. Going through your closet can be pretty relaxing and meditative if you set aside the time, and you'll feel productive too. Sell the clothes you don't want, or give them to charity. Look at that — you're doing good too.

6. Take a break from your smartphone.

Take a break from social media for a while. The world will continue to spin without your selfies. Give your strained eyes a rest and take a look up. The world around you definitely deserves a double-tap.

7. Step up your holiday card game.

It's the same every year; you promise to send out holiday cards, and you always forget. Grab some stationary and handwrite some personal messages, especially to the people who you may have lost touch with over the years.

9. Plan a winter weekend away.

No time or money for a tropical escape this winter? Sit down and chart out an easy and accessible weekend away. Don't forget the firewood!

10. Start journaling again.

Writing in a journal not only relaxes you, but it allows you to vent without treating a friend or family member like a makeshift therapist.

11. Rekindle your relationship with healthy foods.

Swimsuit season is long gone, but that doesn't mean you should toss your healthy eating habits out with the garbage. Plus, the smarter you are with what you eat now, the crazier you can go at the next holiday feast.

12. Refine your sleep routine.

Declutter your bedroom to promote a more relaxed sleep environment, go easy on your eyes by reading or writing instead of using the computer or your phone before bed, and get yourself back on a seven/eight–hour regimen.

Rest up. Cyber Monday is next.

Once you've recovered from Black Friday, hop online to check out Macy's Cyber Monday Sale. We recommend you start scouting on Sunday night, and doing so snuggled in a blanket with a hot cup of cocoa, of course. There's plenty you didn't get on Black Friday — don't miss out this time!
