This One Tiny Detail Shows The Crazy Amount Of Work That Went Into “Prometheus”

It’s so small you probably missed it, but it’s pretty clever.

1. Ridley Scott’s 2012 film Prometheus was intended as a prequel to his earlier work on the Alien franchise, and as a result contained many clever details and call-aheads.

This one, however, is especially subtle.

2. As David examines the black nanoids on his finger, there is a tiny logo as part of his fingerprint.

You might well recognise it, but in case you don’t…

3. It’s the logo of the Weyland Corporation, the creators of David, and predecessors to the Weyland-Yutani corporation of the Alien franchise!

It’s a tiny, throwaway detail, but a fascinating demonstration of just how much thought went into the film, despite some other issues.

4. That is some rather excellent work, film-makers.

Also, because we can’t have nice things, there is a guy who burned it into his own finger with a laser. :(
