19 New TV Shows And Movies Coming To Netflix This Fall

From The King to Big Mouth!

    1. American Psycho - September 1

    Columbia Pictures

Why it's worth the watch: This didn't make AFI's list of the top 100 films of all time, but it's still an undeniable classic!

    2. Superbad - September 1

    Sony Pictures

Why it's worth the watch: Superbad stands the test of time as an enjoyable comedy. There's something uniquely attractive about the 2007-ness of everything in this movie, and you will probably recognize more people than you expected.

    3. Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers - September 1

    New Line Cinema

Why it's worth the watch: LOTR, to us, epitomizes autumn. There is nothing more comforting than curling up under a big fleece blanket and watching Viggo Mortensen in his prime, or crying over Frodo and Sam's eternal love.

    4. Shameless (US), Season 9 - September 10

Why it's worth the watch: This show should be the first example that comes up when you look for the definition of "dramedy." If you need something to dip your toes into that will reach out and pull you under, Shameless is that beast of a show!

    5. Eat Pray Love - September 10

    Columbia Pictures

Why it's worth the watch: What's a bigger fall mood than dreaming about gallivanting around the world and pretending it's still summer, from the rainy autumn comfort of your own living room?

    6. Terrace House: Tokyo 2019-2020 - September 10

Why it's worth the watch: While other reality shows thrive on action and end up being scripted to the point of unreality, Terrace House creates a peaceful atmosphere where you can get invested without stressing.

    7. Unbelievable, Season 1 - September 13

Why it's worth the watch: Based on an article that won a Pulitzer Prize, the show deals with a young woman who is accused of lying about being raped, as two detectives -- also women -- simultaneously investigate a series of horrifically similar attacks.

    8. Surviving R. Kelly, Season 1 - September 15

Why it's worth the watch: People have known about the allegations of R. Kelly's abuse for years, and this docuseries is certainly not an easy watch, but it is important and you will definitely learn something.

    9. American Horror Story: Apocalypse - September 2

Why it's worth the watch: Ryan Murphy always delivers on his epic AHS stories! We know we say this every time, but this might actually be the one.

    10. Call Me By Your Name - September 26

    Sony Pictures

Why it's worth the watch: This popular gay romance won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay, and threw Timothee Chalamet headfirst into stardom!

    11. The Good Place, Season 4 - September 27

Why it's worth the watch: The Good Place truly is required viewing for fans of feel-good television that makes you want to change your life for the better. The final season, with episodes airing weekly, has promised to give fans "the ending this story needs", so get ready to cry a little (a lot).

    12. Peaky Blinders, Season 5 - October 4

Why it's worth the watch: Have you SEEN Cillian Murphy?

    13. Big Mouth, Season 4 - October 4

Why it's worth the watch: Nick Kroll and John Mulaney are some of the funniest people on the face of the planet, and it's clear with every episode of this horny cartoon how much they have worked to get where they are.

    14. Schitt's Creek, Season 5 - October 10

Why it's worth the watch: It's kind of a hidden gem, although recently it has been breaking out into the mainstream genre dominated for so long by NBC and ABC. Season six will be the final season of this show, and we have no doubt that it's going to be a perfect conclusion to the story of one wealthy family who lost everything.

    15. The Laundromat - October 18

Why it's worth the watch: OMG THE HYPE IS SO REAL. Meryl Streep, Sharon Stone, Antonio Banderas -- what more could you want out of a Netflix movie?!

    16. Dolemite Is My Name - October 25

Why it's worth the watch: We are 100% here for Eddie Murphy's big return to comedy, plus the cast is mighty stacked!

    17. Queer Eye: We're In Japan - November 1

Why it's worth the watch: Queer Eye is the beacon signaling a new century where slowly, through small changes, mountains become molehills and growth becomes within our reach. We can't WAIT for this!

    18. The Crown, Season 3 - November 17

Why it's worth the watch: There is something uniquely autumnal about watching regal royalty shows, and nobody does it like The Crown. Olivia Colman won our hearts with her emotional Oscars speech, and in season three she will be picking up the role of Queen Elizabeth II!

    19. And The King - November 1

Why it's worth the watch: This movie premiered at the Venice film festival on September 2nd to an eight minute standing ovation. This reception doesn't exactly come as a surprise, as Shakespeare is always reliable for a good story and this is an adaptation of several of his plays about King Henry IV and Henry V.
