10 Really Heartbreaking Songs That Bella Would've Listened To In That "New Moon" Scene

Might be time to give Jacob a call.

Anyone who has seen the Twilight films know that New Moon is perhaps the saddest pick out of saga. This being solely because of the post-breakup scene following a depressed Bella.

And while the film was released over 12 years ago, heartbreak never ages. So, here are 10 more songs that Bella definitely would've played.

    1. "drivers license" by Olivia Rodrigo

    Griffen Records / Via giphy.com

The Sour album by the talented Disney star is a rollercoaster of genuine emotions, and the confusion most of us felt with our first breakup. This song shines through especially on the bridge. Olivia’s voice carries that verse perfectly, because she truly feels it.

    2. "Someone Like You" by Adele

    BRIT AWARDS / Via giphy.com

Almost any song by Adele could have made this list. However, "Someone Like You" should, and will probably be on any tearjerker list ever made. The idea of looking for your ex in someone else is relatable, and utterly sad. Bella opted to jump off a cliff just to hallucinate and see her sparkly vampire ex. Don't try that at home, people!

    3. "Dancing on My Own" by Calum Scott

    WMG / Via giphy.com

Calum’s version of the song is hauntingly beautiful. His voice brings out emotions I didn’t even know I had. Brace yourself for the waterworks that will surely come.

    4. "Goodbye My Lover" by James Blunt

    Atlantic Records

James Blunt has the kind of the voice that makes this song simultaneously sad and beautiful. Another song where the bridge literally breaks your heart.

    5. "Foolish Games" by Jewel

    Atlantic Records / Via giphy.com

Another singer with a voice that pulls on the heart strings. When Jewel sings “your thoughtless words are breaking my heart," I guarantee your heart will shatter along with her's.

    6. "Sandcastles" by Beyoncé

    Parkwood Entertainment

This song is so incredibly raw and clearly personal that it almost feels we are eavesdropping on Beyoncé's relationship woes. At one point, her voice cracks making this one of the most heartbreaking songs guaranteed to make you shed a tear.

    7. "Nothing Compares 2 U" by Sinéad O’Connor

    Ensign Records / Via giphy.com

Written by the legendary Prince, the first line of this song reminds you how nonsensical time is when missing someone. Does time really move, or is it just one continuous day of nothingness?

    8. "When the Party’s Over" by Billie Eilish

    Interscope Records

Billie Eilish has come on the scene to claim the throne for queen of melancholy. She delivers this somber song as only she could with a deliciously haunting voice that deserves all the accolades.

    9. "Lo Vas A Olvidar" by Billie Eilish and Rosalia

    Interscope Records

As a fan of the Spanish artist Rosalia, the collaboration with Billie is genius. Their unique voices are perfectly synchronized to create a gorgeously melancholic song worthy of all our sorrows.

    10. And "Jar of Hearts" by Christina Perri

    Atlantic Records

Christina Perri is known for her song "A Thousand Years," which is played at many weddings, including Bella and Edwards in Breaking Dawn Part 1. But it’s "Jar of Hearts" that I could imagine Bella listening to on repeat.
