"The Little Mermaid" Trailer Made Me So Excited To See Halle Bailey As Ariel, So Here's Each Disney Princess Animated Vs. Live Action Vs. Broadway

While we wait for The Little Mermaid remake to come out, let's take a look at how our favorite Disney princesses were portrayed over the years. 👀

The trailer for the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid starring Halle Bailey recently dropped this month — and let me tell you, I CANNOT wait to see this movie!

I still have chills hearing the incredibly talented Halle singing "Part of Your World" in the teaser. And I've been touched by the reactions of young Black girls seeing themselves represented on screen as Halle plays the first Black Ariel.

So, while we wait for this highly anticipated remake, here's a look back at how each Disney princess has been portrayed in their animated film, the live-action remake, and on Broadway.

1. First up, of course, is The Little Mermaid. Here's the 1989 animated film with Ariel, voiced by Jodi Benson:
