People Are Sharing Expensive Things That May Not Be Worth Buying, And I'm Curious If You Agree

Sorry, but I don't get the hype with AirPods. 😬

Redditor u/miss_archivist recently asked the internet, "What do you really want to buy, but not sure if it's worth the money?" and people shared tons of pricey things they're totally split on buying.

💰 Below are some of the popular items they aren't sure are ~really~ worth it, and now you get to vote on whether you agree or disagree with them.

Someone coins in hand from their wallet

So, are these expensive things worth the money?

1. "A weighted blanket. Mine was a waste of money. I'm a side sleeper, and it gave me hip pain. Plus, it was just insufferably hot. It just wasn't for me."

2. "An air fryer. Everyone is telling me they're fantastic, but I'd hate to buy one and only use it once or twice."

3. "Tattoo removal vs. just getting it covered up."

4. "Artwork. I fell in love with this painting at an art gallery. The thing is, it’s $900, and I don’t have that kind of money just sitting around and don’t really want to use a credit card for it."

5. "A house. I’m single, it’s a terrible market, and all my friends talk about how they need to fix different parts of their homes. My rent increased 17% this year, and I’d love to have a house to make it seem like the money isn’t completely going to waste, but I don’t want to spend my life thinking about ways to fix it up."

6. "Business-class flights. I really like the idea but really can't justify the cost!"

7. "A 3D printer. It's worth it for custom items. But make no mistake, it's a hobby."

u/abramcpg

8. "A stand mixer. I bake pizza dough and cookies enough to ~perhaps~ consider one, but not enough to justify $300 or whatever the most-trusted brands cost."

u/OvertOperation

9. "A robot vacuum."

10. "An in-ground swimming pool. I know it's not worth it. The people I know who have a pool either tolerate it barely or actively hate it — but I want one."

u/conejon

11. "An Apple Watch."

u/Blarsen17

12. "AirPods."

13. "A college degree. Often experience is more valuable than the degree, but you can't always get the experience without the degree. It's a vicious cycle."

14. "The Dyson Airwrap. I have a hard time justifying $550 for a hair tool, even if it’s multi-use."

u/liveditlovedit

15. And finally: "A Tesla. I know it saves money because you don't have to pay for gas, but I'm not sure if its worth it. I tell myself no, but every time I see one, I want one."
