MiraSmooth is a one-of-a-kind technology for helping your underarms look smoother than a baby's butt.

It uses "precisely controlled" microwave energy to permanently reduce underarm hair of all colors (light, dark, etc.) and excessive underarm sweat.

Unlike regular lasers, the microwaves are essentially colorblind, which means they can be used on all skin tones.

*Note: According to MiraDry's website, the black lines and markings on the armpit are temporary marks that help guide the treatment. Local anesthesia is also applied to the underarms to minimize pain.

BuzzFeed Life consulted Dr. Snehal Amin to determine whether "microwaving" your pits is safe practice.

"While the safety and efficacy of microwave device treatment for sweating is fairly well established, there is less long-term data on the safety and efficacy of microwaves for hair removal," says Amin.

But Jeremy Brauer, MD says he's seen around a 70 percent reduction in pit hair.

"Using this technology we've seen stable auxillary hair reduction of approximately 70% regardless of color, and these results were based on a non-optimized treatment protocol," he said in this press release.
