With Taylor Swift's latest single "Look What You Made Me Do" dropping earlier today and the VMAs taking place this weekend, now seems like the perfect time to take a look back at her outfits over the past NINE (!!!!) years.
Taylor first hit the VMAs red carpet back in 2008 when she was nominated for Best New Artist for her song "Teardrops on My Guitar." While the award ended up going to Tokio Hotel for "Ready, Set, Go!", Taylor looked like a flawless queen.
Next up was the 2009 MTV VMAs, where (arguably) one of the most iconic moments in pop culture history took place. I mean, REMEMBER THIS?! Of course you do.
Despite the truly memorable incident, Taylor remained cool, calm, and collected while rocking this sequined number by Kaufman Franco.
She even performed "You Belong With Me" while standing on a taxi cab in this red, 1950s vintage dress outside of New York's Radio City Music Hall. Cute.
In 2010, Taylor took an even more vintage approach. She was nominated for Best Female Video for "Fifteen" and performed the song "Innocent" in a classic beige strapless dress by Dolce & Gabbana.
And after skipping the VMAs in 2011, she came READY in 2012. Showing up in a sleek, white, J. Mendel pantsuit, Taylor let everyone know that she meant BUSINESS.
During the show, she performed "We Are Never Getting Back Together" and I will now undoubtedly have that song stuck in my head for the remainder of the day.
Once 2013 came around, Taylor was a VMAs-pro, showing up in this S T U N N I N G Hervé Léger by Max Azria dress. I mean, like her or not, the dress was pretty gorgeous.
And in the year 2014, when rompers were ALL the rage, Taylor walked the carpet in this blue gem designed by Mary Katrantzou.
Her performance for "Shake It Off" was entertaining, to say the least, and the outfit was top-notch. FRINGE!
2015 was another big year, with Taylor showing up in a metallic houndstooth two-piece designed by Ashish.
She also performed alongside Nicki Minaj in matching red outfits...
So, there you have it. A full breakdown of everything T.Swift has worn to the VMAs. Now just one question remains — will 2017 be the year of snakeskin????
