My Open Letter to Jennifer Lawerence

Jennifer, you were wronged, and this is 100% a sex crime. I'm so so sorry.

Dear Jen,

This letter is something that I have felt I've needed to be written for a long time, but I was reminded of it when I read this open letter to you. Although I agree with some of it, it reminded me that this letter should be written, so here I am. I am a Christian, and although I sometimes say things I shouldn't, and I find church boring, I love my religion. I also don't agree with everything that my religion says.

The one thing that I'm going to talk about is how many Christians (or at least the ones that I have had the displeasure of meeting) believe that they are better than someone else because of the different mistakes they've made, which is where this your story comes in. I cannot tell you how many times I've heard people say that "it sucks that this happened, but she was dumb enough to take the photos." Now, in no way am I saying that taking nude photos and sending them to someone is okay, but you, Jen, (can I call you that? Are we on a nickname basis?) are in no way to blame here. You were in a healthy relationship, and sent those intimate photos as a way to be closer to your boyfriend, and these photos were stolen from you. As a celebrity, your personal life is plastered on the cover of Us Weekly and on the homepage of TMZ. You deserves to have something, if not your sex life, to yourself. Your job description doesn't say "your private photos won't even be private! They'll be all over the internet for everyone on earth to see!" You didn't ask for this. If anyone else had their private photos stolen and posted online, they would be taken down faster than you could say "sex crime," and the culprit would be thrown into prison before anyone could see them, but because your name is known, and because you are living out your dream, you're forced to deal with perverts that want to see something that is none of their business.

You, along with all of these other women that had their privacy invaded, I applaud for seeking legal action. You deserve to see that awful person sit in a jail cell for years, (hopefully) realizing that what they did is disgusting and sick. I feel sick when I see jokes about topics like this and that clip that Jimmy Kimmel did, asking pedestirans if they had seen your photos, and laughing about it, broke my heart for you. I cannot imagine what this is like for you, and I'm sorry, again, that you have to go through this. This is completely unfair, and I hope that you get justice.

Yours Truly,

A Fan

P.S. Sorry about all the apologizing. I'm Canadian.
