    Google's mass digitization project, Google Book Search, which scans millions of books from library's without the author's permission, gets classified as a class-action lawsuit.

    In 2009, "Sergey Brin responds to criticism Google has received concerning its project to digitize and store millions of the world's books online. "I've been surprised at the level of controversy there," says Brin, but maintains that he's "optimistic" the project will be a success."
