Life happens when you're not looking (down).
This dude went whale watching AND MISSED THE BEST PART because he was textin' or whatever.
Next time you are in a museum, take a look around you. How many people are concentrating more on Instagramming the moment than the work itself? Is this how we really interact with art these days?
Concert pics are always crappy. Unless it's some crazy iconic moment only you and a handful of people are allowed to witness, go ahead. Otherwise, why not just take a group pic of you and your friends before the show (what you really want to remember anyhow), then enjoy the music?
Isn't that the point of a vacation? To get away from things? Facebook will be there when you get back.
For multiple obvious reasons.
1) Should you walk into a pole it's your own damn fault.
2) If you're walking to clear your head, your phone won't help.
3) If you're walking with others, then you're missing out on your surroundings and your friends.
At the very least, do yourself a favor and go into airplane mode.
Are you trying to film your adventures at Disneyland? Don't do it. Just don't. There are videos on YouTube of literally every ride ever. Not to mention you will risk having your phone thrown into an abyss.
Your parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles hate it so much when you are on your phone. Literally every time you check Facebook, their eyes dart to one another as if to say, how rude.
Obviously. Don't you want to eat in peace?
God is watching.
If you appreciate this image, then the point is NOT to Instagram it. Plus, probably hundreds of people have already Instagrammed it for you.
It's just not very nice, now is it?
Five years from now, when you are paying off your student loans and trying to assess whether you got enough out of school, you will feel bad about being distracted in class.
That should go without saying.
Just remember: "Everyone on the internet is an actual person." We've all done stupid things. Would you want a stranger documenting your embarrassing moments and sharing them with the world?
