I Don’t Understand The American Obsession With Pumpkin Spice, So I Rounded Up 10 Alternatives

For those who wish to feel cozy and enjoy the warm vibes of fall, but can’t stand pumpkin spice everything...

Imagine it: you are starting your day sipping that delicious pumpkin spice latte and watching the autumn leaves fall on the road. Then you are walking to your work in that enormous cozy sweater and indulging in sweet pumpkin pie which you bought from your local bakery. In the evening, you are soaking in a pumpkin spice bubble bath. You think to yourself, maybe pumpkin spice culture has gone too far?

Being an international student from Ukraine, I couldn’t help but notice the US has a whole culture around the flavor of pumpkin spice and PSL during the fall season.

However, not all people are obsessed with the pumpkin spice flavor. Therefore, I have decided to create a much needed list including the best (non-pumpkin spice) fall drinks based on my personal preferences and opinions of my friends and acquaintances from all around the world.

Are you ready to find your favorite fall drink and get super cozy this autumn?

1. Mulled wine

Mulled wine is definitely one of the top fall and winter drinks for many Europeans and beyond. Delicious hot wine is combined with the perfect combination of warm spices, orange slices, honey, and other ingredients. All of this creates an unforgettable taste of spice, sweetness, and warmth at the same time. Does it even get cozier?

Non-alcoholic options are also available with grape, apple, cranberry juices!

2. Homemade apple cider

The most traditional fall drink is right here! Homemade apple cider hits all the cozy fall notes. There is something special about a warm drink made of real apples, paired full of spice and sweet taste simultaneously, along with an everlasting savory aroma. It is surely an immediate booster for your fall spirit!

3. Autumn hot cocoa

Who said hot cocoa is a solely winter holiday drink? Treat yourself with yummy hot chocolate this fall. Don’t forget to toss some mini marshmallows into the mug to increase the coziness level. Stir with a cinnamon stick or add in caramel topping for maximum autumn flavors! Get warm from inside out!
