James Altucher has made his millions in the finance world, selling books, and a whole lot of areas...
His answer was that he had and the issue with him doing stand-up comedy as he goes to sleep at 8:30 at night for the sake of his health:
Q: This doesn't really pertain to sales but I was wondering if you've ever done stand up or have considering doing stand-up comedy? You're really funny.
JA: Thank you. I have actually but one part that is very important to me --- Micheal was referring to this earlier --- is health. I go to sleep about 8:30 every night and I stay very disciplined about that. So, I was at a dinner last night. A friend of mine had his 50th birthday party. It's a surprise party, and he was late. And it was getting to like 8 o'clock 8:15, finally he shows up and I shook his hand and like I gotta go 'cause I go to sleep at 8:30. And his wife was very upset that I was going because like everything was catered...and I don't know what---they're never going to talk to me again.

One way around that is just do standup at his own time. So it would be interesting to find out what time of day did he record his set in front of the subway crowd (Rating: M - Strong Language and Adult Themes).
As for his comedy club appearance (at Stand Up NY) it was interesting to note that the flyer states that it starts at 8 PM.
I have yet to watch the footage (I couldn't find anything available publicly) of his appearance at 'Stand Up NY' and am definitely hoping that it is more of his comedy during the Social Triggers event. Telling stories about his life, and the funny bits in between.
Keep it up James! Looking forward to checking out more of your material while you continue your journey as a Stand-up Comic.
