What is matcha you might ask?
It is a fine powder produced by grinding the most delicate green tea leaves.
Matcha is a prized possession of Japan. In fact, it was originally enjoyed by Japanese monks, royalty and the samurai society. It is valued so high by the Japanese that it is the only tea used in the Japanese tea ceremony, Sadō, or The Way of Tea. Today, a very low percentage of Japan's matcha is exported due to high domestic demand.
