Canada’s Parliament Hung The Trans Pride Flag On A Very Momentous Day

On Tuesday, the government announced legislation that would give legal protection to trans and gender-diverse Canadians.

The Liberal government introduced a bill that will extend human rights protections to transgender and gender-diverse Canadians. It's a historic moment for Canada, but there was also some important symbolism going on.

For the first time ever, the trans pride flag was hung alongside the maple leaf in the House of Commons foyer. Tuesday also happens to be the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, making its presence all the more special.
