Hi, I'm Lauren! I'm the kind of girl who always wants to do her hair and then barely brushes it. So I decided to force myself to try some popular braid tutorials on Pinterest in order to switch things up a bit.

Just hair me out, you can do these too!

I loved this hairstyle! While it did take a ton of hair ties, it was pretty easy to do and hard to mess up. The technique of "pulling through" is a bit confusing at first, but once you get it you'll be done with the braid in no time.
Materials required: ~10 hair ties, 1 hair clip
How to: Make two ponytails – one under the other. Take the top ponytail and divide it in two parts, and take the bottom ponytail and clip it upwards in between the split, out of the way. Then, bring the two parts of the top ponytail back together and tie it. Repeat this all the way down! So easy. You got this.
This was so hard. It's just a simple french braid with a bun at the end of it, but I couldn't get the braids to go to the back of my head. The braids had zero volume and my arms were SO. TIRED. 😪 But, I'm pretty happy with the end result, I think it's a cute look regardless!
Materials required: teasing comb, 2 hair ties, some bobby pins
How to: Split your hair in two, and make two french braids until the nape of your neck. Secure with a hair tie, tease the remaining hair, and use bobby pins to turn it into a cute little bun!
I've never really been a big fan of the braid crown look, but I can see why it's such a popular Pinterest hairstyle. It's actually ridiculously easy to do, as it's just two braids flipped upwards and bobby pinned on the head. And it's a great no-fuss way to keep all your hair out of the way.
Materials required: 2 hair ties, some bobby pins
How to: Split your hair in two, and make two braids starting from the back of your head going towards the front. Then, plop the two braids on top of your head and secure like crazy.
This was so super easy! This hairstyle is such a simple way to dress it up a little, while keeping it casual. This would've looked better if I had thicker/more voluminous hair but alas, I do not. However, it only took 3 minutes and 3 braids, so I'll definitely be doing this again.
Materials required: 3 small elastics, some bobby pins
How to: Make three braids in different sizes, and bobby pin them to your head, covering up the ends.
Oh man did I do a truly terrible job. You can't even see the braid! It's literally just a braid and a bun, what's so hard about that? IDK IDK EVERYTHING. This is such a edgy, fun look though, and I really wish I did it right. Maybe with some practice and patience, and also some more hairspray, a comb, skills, nimble hands...
Materials required: hairspray, comb, 1 hair tie, bobby pins
How to: Make a french braid at the top of your head, and secure with a hair tie at the back of your head. Tease the ponytail and pin it up into a bun!
Ah, fishtails. The most tedious braid of them all. But you have to admit, the hard work pays off! This hairstyle just called for two fishtail braids, crossed over each other. I really loved this style, although it took approximately 82 bobby pins. This is a doable, elegant hairstyle that I definitely want to wear to a party or something.
Materials required: 2 hair ties, and a fuck ton of bobby pins
How to: Make two fishtail braids, and slap them around the back of your head. Secure with bobby pins.
