    Here Are 34 Brand-New TV Series Coming Out In 2023

    With Tom Holland's new series, The Crowded Room, Elizabeth Olsen playing a murderer in Love and Death, great music in Daisy Jones & the Six, and crying for days because of The Last of Us...we're staying fed this year, folks.

    1. Agatha: Coven of Chaos

    In this WandaVision spinoff, Kathryn Hahn returns to the MCU as the infamous Agatha Harkness. We last left her losing a fight with Wanda Maximoff and getting trapped in her Agnes persona. Marvel has been very hush about the exact plot, but fans are hoping this series will show Agatha breaking that spell and dealing with a bunch of other new MCU witches. Filming just began this week, so if everything goes to plan we'll hopefully get to see some episodes by the end of the year!

    Based on the fan-favorite video game, The Last of Us takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel (Pedro Pascal), a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie (Bella Ramsey), a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal and heartbreaking journey as they both must traverse the US and depend on each other for survival.

    3. Daisy Jones & The Six

    Based on the book by Taylor Jenkins Reid, the series follows the fictional band, Daisy Jones & The Six, during their rise to fame in the '70s through their tumultuous breakup in the '80s. The series is executive produced by Reese Witherspoon so you already know it's gonna be good. Plus, Phoebe Bridgers worked on the soundtrack, so it's clear this show is gonna make us sob in the best way.

    4. The Idol

    From Euphoria creator Sam Levinson and The Weeknd comes this new series about an aspiring pop idol recovering from a nervous breakdown. In an effort to reclaim her fame, she gets involved with a self-help teacher, who just happens to be the leader of a cult.

    5. That '90s Show

In hopes of adding a little adventure to her life, Leia is excited to meet new friends and reinvent herself. After hitting it off with the rebellious girl next door, Gwen, Leia finds herself wanting to impress her and all of her cool friends, while making lifelong memories in her grandparents' basement — just like her parents did all those years ago. That '70s Show stars Topher Grace, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Laura Prepon, and Wilmer Valderrama will make appearances in the new series, too!

    6. Gen V

    This upcoming spinoff of The Boys focuses on the college-aged supes who attend Vought's Godolkin University School of Crimefighting. At the school, students are thrown into Hunger Games-style battles as a way to measure their superpowers. The series exists in the same world as The Boys and will happen alongside the action of Season 4. Jessie T. Usher, Colby Minifie, and P. J. Byrne are all set to guest star in the spinoff as their respective characters as well.

    7. Love and Death

    From the creator of shows like Big Little Lies and The Undoing comes your next true crime obsession, Love and Death. Elizabeth Olsen stars as Candy Montgomery, aka the '80s housewife who brutally axe-murdered her friend and had an affair with her husband. For reference, the show's creators turned to Jim Atkinson and Joe Bob Briggs' book, Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs, which features exclusive interviews from the families involved to really bring the story to life.

    8. Freeridge

    The new On My Block spinoff comes to Netflix next month and it looks like there's a new core four in town. Freeridge is a coming-of-age comedy following sibling rivals Gloria and Ines and their friends Demi and Cameron, who have unleashed a curse bringing dark misfortune into their lives. The series will also feature Paula Garcés, Eric Neil Gutierrez, Eme Ikwuakor, and Raushanah Simmons who will be reprising their On My Block roles.

    9. The Company You Keep

    The Company You Keep follows Charlie (Milo Ventimiglia), a con man who has a one-night stand with an undercover CIA officer named Emma (Catherine Haena Kim), and now, they are unknowingly on a collision course professionally. While Charlie ramps up the "family business" so he can get out for good, Emma's closing in on the vengeful criminal who holds Charlie's family debts in hand — forcing them to reckon with the lies they've told so they can save themselves and their families.

    Mindy Kaling lends her voice to the ever-iconic Velma Dinkley in this adult animated origin story of the Mystery Inc. we know and love. Sam Richardson will voice Shaggy, Constance Wu voices Daphne, and Glenn Howerton voices Fred. The series focuses on Velma solving the mystery of her missing mother and the murders of several local teenage girls.

    11. Secret Invasion

    12. The Crowded Room

    Tom Holland stars in the first season of Apple TV+'s new crime anthology series. The series is meant to shed a light on many different experiences of those who have struggled and learned to live with mental illness. Season 1 is inspired by the nonfiction book, The Minds of Billy Milligan by Daniel Keyes, which tells the story of the first person in US history acquitted of a major crime by pleading dissociative identity disorder.

    13. Echo

    Echo will tell the origin story of Maya Lopez, who we first met in Hawkeye. After enduring (and partially causing) chaos in New York City, Maya will go back to her hometown where her unfortunate past catches up with her. Now, she must face her wrongdoings, reconnect with her Native American roots, and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.

    Based on the book Integrity by Egil Krogh and Matthew Krogh, White House Plumbers follows President Nixon's political operatives who were tasked with plugging press leaks by whatever means necessary. Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux star as E. Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy, real-life intelligence officers who accidentally overturned Nixon's presidency while trying to save it.

    15. Shrinking

Throwing all ethics and morals out the window, Jimmy finds himself making huge changes in people's lives, all with brutal, unfiltered honesty.

    16. American Born Chinese

    Disney+'s newest series is based on the graphic novel by Gene Luen Yang. Jin Wang is an average teenager who's trying to balance a high-school social life with his immigrant home life. When he meets a new foreign student at school, even more worlds collide in his life. The multilayered series weaves three stories spanning from the 16th century to the present day exploring the identity of Chinese Americans.

    18. Wolf Pack

    19. Kaleidoscope

Guarded by the world’s most powerful corporate security team, and with law enforcement on the case, every episode reveals a piece of an elaborate puzzle of corruption, greed, vengeance, scheming, loyalties, and betrayals. Loosely inspired by the real-life story of when $70 billion in bonds went missing in downtown Manhattan during Hurricane Sandy, Kaleidoscope spans from 24 years before the heist to six months after. Also, what's really cool about this show is that its non-linear approach to storytelling builds suspense uniquely, by giving viewers different watching experiences. So, some members may start with certain episodes (like “Yellow or “Green”), then move deeper into their own personal viewing order with varying episodes (“Blue” or “Violet” or “Orange,” followed by “Red” or “Pink”) until the epic “White: The Heist” finale. Bottom line: You'll see all the episodes eventually, just not in the same order as, say, your cousin, your boss, or your best friend.

    21. The Last Thing He Told Me

    Based on Laura Dave's best-selling novel, The Last Thing He Told Me follows Hannah, a woman who's tasked with parenting her new stepdaughter Bailey after her husband (Bailey's dad) mysteriously disappears. Over the course of the miniseries, the relationship between the two will develop into an unbreakable bond as they search for any clues left that may locate Bailey's father. This is another series that will be executive produced by Reese Witherspoon and her production company Hello Sunshine.

    22. Tiny Beautiful Things

    Based on the best-selling book by Cheryl Strayed, Tiny Beautiful Things follows Clare, a floundering writer who becomes a revered advice columnist at the same time her own life is falling apart. When we first meet Clare, her marriage is barely limping along, her teenage daughter is pushing her away, and her once-promising writing career is non-existent. So when an old writing pal asks her to take over as the advice columnist Dear Sugar, she thinks she has no business giving anyone advice.     23. Ahsoka

    Ahsoka is the newest installation to the Star Wars franchise and is set within the timeline of The Mandalorian and after the events of Return of the Jedi. So far, very little is known about the exact plot of Ahsoka, but director Dave Filoni teased to Vanity Fair, that "She is, for lack of a term, a master, because she's largely an independent at this point. A wandering samurai character is what she really is at this point. I've always made comparisons to her heading toward the Gandalf stage, where she is the one that has the knowledge of the world and can help others through it. I think she's reached that point." Hayden Christiansen is also confirmed to return to the franchise as Anakin Skywalker.

    24. Accused

    Based on the BBC’s BAFTA-winning crime anthology, each episode of Accused  will follow a new criminal case. Every episode will be told from the defendant's point of view, without telling us what they've been accused of or how they ended up on trial. Over the course of the season, viewers will discover how an ordinary person can get caught up in an extraordinary situation, ultimately revealing how one wrong turn leads to another until it’s too late to turn back.

    In this "exploration of faith versus technology," Betty Gilpin plays Simone, a nun who goes to battle against an all-powerful Artificial Intelligence known as “Mrs. Davis.” Simone will fight to destroy the AI alongside her ex, who also has a personal vendetta against the Algorithm.

    27. Gotham Knights

    Ironheart follows Riri Williams, a 19-year-old Black inventor who creates a technologically advanced metal suit similar to Iron Man's. Dominique Thorne will reprise her role as Riri/Ironheart, first introduced in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Anthony Ramos will also join the series as Parker Robbins/The Hood, an ally of Riri's who wears a hood that lets him tap into dark arts and magic. This series will also be included in Marvel's Phase Five.

The series will also generate local spinoffs, where the characters will have one-off adventures in their own countries. India, Italy, and Mexico are among the countries being targeted for their own series.

    Based on the novel by Naomi Alderman, The Power takes place in a world where all teenage girls develop the power to electrocute people at will. After realizing how empowering this skill is, and learning that it can be awakened in older women, the entire world changes...for better and for worse. The series jumps around the globe telling different stories of many different women who've discovered their power and the effect it has on the lives of those around them.
