My advice would be to not be afraid to back out of events and have some quiet time for yourself. A lot goes on freshman year, and you will feel expected to participate in every gathering, event, or party. Itâs okay to have a quiet night in, or even opt to doing things on your own.âŠÂ
When I was seeing a therapist for eating disorder treatment, she told me that if we are constantly thinking about food, then we donât have a healthy relationship with it. I really didnât take well to therapy, but she did help me work through some things, and I always remembered that.âŠÂ
I didnât walk in on them, but learned my lesson about why we donât snoop! Our dad traveled a lot for work, and one day my sister and I were home alone after school. We were maybe 11, and got the great idea to go searching for Christmas presents. While looking in my parents room, weâŠÂ
I straight up ate battery acid once. I was 7 or 8 and there was an old flashlight in my room (a really cheap one) and there was liquid coming out of it. Being the dumb child I was I opened the flashlight, got some on my finger and licked it. Needless to say it burned, but everythingâŠÂ
My sister and I each had a cat, and these cats were brothers. My cat got sick suddenly and we had to put him down sadly. For several days after his death, my sisters cat would sleep on my bed with me, and cuddle and hang out with me. It was as if he knew.
I once played with a Ouija board at a sleep over. We werenât asking it anything weird, but more questions like âwho am I going to marry?â, things like that. I asked it to give me the initials of someone I will date in the future, and it gave me an âNâ and a âBâ. Sure enough, I datedâŠÂ
I remember getting that book when I was ten years old, about to enter fifth grade. Every night my mom would let my twin sister and I read a new chapter. She would then let us come to her with any other questions. We passed that book onto my younger cousin when she was around 9. GreatâŠÂ
If your teacher /professor offers extra help, SI sessions, test reviews , or whatever they call it, GO TO THEM. Even if theyâre useless, it forces you to look at the material, be with other students who may have the same questions you do, and gives you a chance to ask questions. TeachersâŠÂ
