Marina Diamandis Dropped An Excellent Feminist Sass-Bomb On Twitter

"2015: Are you a feminist? Me: Is that a f**king real question?"

Welsh singer-songwriter Marina Diamandis, AKA, Marina and the Diamonds, had plenty of Twitter sass on the subject of feminism this weekend.

Do you really want me to 📝 a 💁 anthem? I'm 😋 cooking 🍝 in the kitchen for my 👨

After tweeting her cover for the new issue of Nylon magazine, which describes her as "the sound of feminism now," the singer joked, "Do you really want me to write a feminist anthem? I'm happy cooking dinner in the kitchen for my husband," when translated from Emoji to English.

She then seemed exasperated by the suggestion that any woman would not be a feminist in 2015.

2015: "Are you a feminist?" Me: "Is that a real fucking question?"

On a more serious note, she noted that women still experiencing inequality is "absolutely insane".

The fact that women still aren't paid the same as men & it's 2015 just blows. My fucking. Mind. It's absolutely insane.

I'm happy cooking dinner just as I'm happy getting equal rights https://t.co/nL6hO3uCCN

In the interview with Nylon, Diamandis takes a swipe at a woman she believes to have been involved with her ex, but is careful to point out that she's simply "calling facts" on a "human."

On the song, "Better Than That", taken from her new album, Froot, she sings, " “I’m not passing judgment on her sexual life / I’m passing judgment on the way she always stuck her knife,” which she explains to Nylon “obviously has some anger in it, but I want to make clear that I’m not slut-shaming.”

Keep on fightin' the good fight, Marina 💁💁💁💁💁💁💁💁💁.
