I think what most people are forgetting here is that these are ads meant to sell something. It isn’t meant to beareflection on society as an art piece which inspires conversation and progression. Plenty of artists have depicted women in less than desirable circumstances. Take Manet, for example. He was not well liked in his time for blatantly painting his favorite model asaprostitute inabrothel and purposely painting her as she was instead of idealizing her body.
