Photographing from a raised platform, Nick Turpin was able to perfectly capture people in the rush hour over the winter months in London. "The low temperatures meant that the bus windows were covered in condensation, which gave a beautiful painterly effect," Turpin tells BuzzFeed.
"The photographs show people in transit between their place of work, where they are known by their colleagues, and their homes, where they are known by their friends or family. They are caught briefly in-between identities."
"The commute is a big part of most Londoners' lives," says Turpin. "I am very much drawn to pictures and projects that show how we live in a large, developed contemporary city."
