We Finally Tried That 3D Mascara You Always See On Facebook And We Were Impressed

It's honestly pretty fabu-lash.

Hello people with eyelashes, four ladies here who have always desired longer and fuller lashes. If you're like us and have access to Facebook, you might have seen the trendy 3D fiber mascara from Younique.

So we decided to get our hands on the product and try it out for ourselves. The set includes one regular mascara (transplanting gel) and a 3D fiber gel brush and costs $29.

However, the kicker is that you have to find a seller, as you can't just go to their website and purchase it straight-up. A litttttle annoying, but we were not deterred.

And here's what her lashes look like after using the 3D fiber mascara:

Lara Parker

Farrah's thoughts on the mascara: I have short and thick eyelashes that do not curl, so my dream lashes are ones that are long and luscious. I was honestly really impressed at how lengthy they became with this stuff! Waaaay better than the $5 drugstore mascara that I typically use. $30 is a little pricey for me, but I would make the splurge because it gave me such great length!

Overall rating: 5/5

And here's what Sheridan's lashes look like after using the 3D mascara:

Farrah Penn

Sheridan's thoughts on the mascara: Look, I’ve tried every mascara under the sun (thank you watery eyes who have never found a mascara soulmate), but this mascara was…fine. My mind wasn’t blown from the volume or length — it gave me the same results as 50 other mascaras I’ve tried. I will say, I wasn’t left with panda eyes at the end of the day so that’s a plus. All in all, it’s a decent mascara, but I’m not gonna write home to mom about it and I probably wouldn’t be down to pay $29 for it. Call me when the price gets marked down.

Overall rating: 3.5/5

And here's what Lara's lashes look like post 3D mascara:

Farrah Penn

Lara's thoughts on the mascara: I love this mascara??? I'm kind of upset, because I don't love spending $29 on anything this small, but it truly made my eyelashes look full and long. I'm impressed. It can look a little bit clumpy at times, but at the end of the day without this mascara my lashes ain't gonna look this good, so I guess I'm sold.

Overall rating: 4/5

And here's Nina after using the 3D mascara:

Farrah Penn

Nina's thoughts on the mascara: I wasn’t expecting much of this product, honestly. I tried the trick where you put ripped up cotton in your mascara and it was messy AF, so I figured this was just a more expensive version of that failure. But I’m truly impressed. My lashes are somewhat long already, but with this mascara it looks like I’m wearing falsies! I don’t love that it’s a three-step process because I’m lazy, but I’ll get over it if it’s going to look like this every time. My one criticism is that it gets a little too clumpy for my personal comfort. It tends to make your lashes stick together so they form little triangles. But tbh it’s a look, and I’m here for it.

Overall rating: 4.5/5

Overall, we were pretty impressed with this mascara. Sheridan thinks you can leave it, but if you have similar lashes to Farrah, Lara, or Nina it might be worth adding to your collection.

BuzzFeed received the mascara to try free of charge but were not obligated to review.
