This Woman Used Makeup To Show How Painful Endometriosis Is
Endometriosis is an invisible illness, so this artist used makeup to show what her pain on the inside would look like on the outside.
This is Andrea Baines. She is a makeup artist studying at Cassie Lomas Makeup Academy in the UK. She also lives with endometriosis.
Endometriosis, a disease where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus — known as the endometrium — is found outside of the uterus, impacts approximately 200 million people worldwide, or 1 in 10 women.
However, because endometriosis exists internally, it is an invisible illness, causing many people who live with it to feel as if they constantly have to prove that they're in pain.
