People are flooding One Nation candidate Michelle Meyers with rainbows on Facebook after she claimed LGBT people are using Nazi-style mind control techniques to garner support for same-sex marriage.
“Are you wondering why even some Christians are being swayed by the gender industry’s pitch and push 4 same sex ‘marriage’ and acceptance of fake families?” Meyers wrote on Facebook in November 2016.
“It’s not by accident; it’s by a carefully contrived but disingenuous mind control program, melded together by two Norwegian homosexuals who graduated from Harvard - one whom has since prematurely passed away."
She is running for election in the seat of Bateman in the upcoming state election in Western Australia.
In response to the wacky theory, people have taken to Meyer's Facebook page.
The comments include pictures of rainbows and people at Pride, rainbow emojis, and stickers from the LGBT Pride sticker pack.
Few recent posts escaped the rainbow treatment – not even this suggestion for a homemade laundry detergent.
While some comments are critical of Meyers – labelling her a "fucking crackpot", among other things – the bulk of comments are simply rainbow images.
