9 Cute Halloween Treats For A Spooktacular Party

With Kroger, these frighteningly delicious desserts will make you say “Boo-nappétit!”

Rainbow Monster Cookies

You’ll Need:

17.5 ounces boxed sugar cookie mix

Neon food coloring kit

1 ounce mini candy eyeballs

Directions:

Prepare sugar cookie mix according to boxed instructions. Separate cookie dough into four bowls, add 3–4 drops of one food coloring to each bow, and mix until thoroughly combined. Roll cookie dough into 1-inch balls, place on cookie sheet, and bake according to instructions. While cookies are still fresh from the oven, press varying amounts of candy eyes into the cookies for a treat that will catch everyone’s eye at the snack table!

Scream-Worthy Strawberries

You’ll Need:

16 ounces fresh strawberries

11-ounce bag white chocolate

11-ounce bag milk chocolate

Parchment paper (optional)

Resealable plastic bags

Directions:

Rinse strawberries under cool water and set on paper towel to dry. In microwave-safe bowl, heat white chocolate and stir until completely melted.

In a medium microwave-safe bowl, heat white melting chocolate and stir until completely melted. Dip strawberries into white chocolate, place on a cooking sheet or parchment paper, and refrigerate until cooled. In a second microwave-safe bowl, melt milk chocolate. Remove strawberries from refrigerator. Spoon a healthy amount of milk chocolate into a resealable bag and make a fine-tip cut. Get ghoulish and draw ghostly faces onto the strawberries for a scream-worthy dessert!

Vampire Fang Nibblers

You’ll Need:

5 Fuji apples

5 Granny Smith apples

Lime juice (optional)

15-ounce jar peanut butter (or nut butter substitute)

9-ounce bag Brach’s Dragon Teeth

1/2 cup raspberry jam (optional)


Directions:

Wash apples, slice into four pieces, and discard the cores. Cut a V into each apple quarter to hollow out for the “mouth.” Spritz with lime juice to avoid browning. Generously apply a layer of peanut butter (or nut butter substitute) to the inside of the mouth and line the insides with Dragon Teeth to act as the creepy teeth and fangs! For an additional fruity, vampire twist, add a small layer of raspberry jam around the teeth, and you’ll have a spooktacular treat!

Sweet and Spooky Mummy Cupcakes

You'll Need:

15.25 ounces boxed cake mix

16-ounce container frosting

12-ounce bag pretzel rods

11-ounce bag white chocolate

1 ounce mini candy eyeballs

Parchment paper

Directions:

Prepare desired cupcake flavor according to boxed instructions and frost when cooled. In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt white chocolate. Break pretzel rods into halves, cover in melted white chocolate, and place on parchment paper. While chocolate cools, place candy eyeballs at the top of each rod. For additional mummy effect, spoon remaining white chocolate and drizzle for a bandage-like pattern. Once cooled, press mummy pretzel rods into frosted cupcakes for a treat that’s delicious enough to wake the dead!

Simply Scary Spider Bites

You’ll Need:

18 ounces boxed brownie mix

Mini muffin pan

16-ounce container white frosting

Green food coloring

Resealable plastic bags

Directions:

Prepare brownie mix according to boxed instructions and add to greased mini muffin tin. In medium mixing bowl, combine white frosting and 2–3 drops of food coloring until thoroughly mixed. Add colored frosting into resealable plastic bag and cut a fine pointed tip. Once brownies are cooled, squeeze a dime-sized amount of frosting in the middle of the brownie bite along with 6 legs that reach the edges for the illusion of a deliciously creepy spider. For additional fun, use a variety of colored frosting to make those spiders really pop and spook your guests!

Deadly Delicious Goblin Donut

You'll Need:

1 dozen plain doughnuts

8 ounces multi-colored chocolate melts

1 ounce mini candy eyeballs

9-ounce bag Brach’s Unicorn Horns

Sprinkles (optional)

Directions:

In separate microwave-safe bowls, melt varying colors of desired melting chocolates. Dunk each doughnut O-side down into melting chocolates for an even layer and place on cooking sheet. While chocolate is still warm, get creative and place candy eyes and unicorn horns near the doughnut hole to complete the face. Top with sprinkles if desired and wait for chocolate to harden before serving up this scary treat!

Undead Cookies and Cream Dirt Dip

You'll Need:

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

3 ½ cups milk

2 packages instant chocolate pudding

8 ounces whipped topping

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/4 cup powdered sugar

4 cups crushed sandwich cookies

9-ounce bag Pumpkin Pie Kit Kat

9 ounces gummy worms (optional)

Directions:

In a large mixing bowl, prepare chocolate pudding according to directions and chill for 5–10 minutes. While the pudding sets, place sandwich cookies in plastic bag and crush until it reaches a fine consistency. In a medium mixing bowl, blend cream cheese and powdered sugar until it reaches a fluffy texture and gradually add in the whipped topping, chocolate pudding, and 1 cup crushed cookies until thoroughly combined. In a circular serving dish, add pudding and crushed cookies in alternating layers (leaving enough left for a top layer). Chill for 3–4 hours. Upon serving, line the edges with additional sandwich cookies and Pumpkin Kit Kats. Top with creepy crawly gummy worms for that ghoulish graveyard effect!

Jiggly Gelatin Brain

You’ll Need:

1 package strawberry gelatin mix

1 package unflavored gelatin

9 ounces gummy worms

8.75 ounces canned fruit cocktail

Brain gelatin mold

Directions:

Pour both strawberry and unflavored gelatin mix into large mixing bowl, add four cups of boiling water, and mix until dissolved. Open and drain canned fruit cocktail of excess water. Add fruit cocktail into the gelatin mix, then pour into the brain mold. Place in refrigerator and let it chill for an hour and add gummy worms. Continue to chill gelatin for an additional 2–3 hours before serving a slice of brain everyone will become zombies for!

Pointy Witch Hats

You’ll Need:

17.5 ounces boxed sugar cookie mix

Assorted food coloring kit

8-ounce bag orange melting chocolate

8-ounce bag purple melting chocolate

11-ounce bag chocolate drops

16-ounce bag marshmallows

4-ounce tube black decorating icing

Directions:

Prepare sugar cookie mix according to packaged according to instructions. Divide half of the cookie dough into separate mixing bowls. In one bowl, use food coloring to create orange dough, and in the other, combine to create a purple dough. Roll into one inch balls, cook, and cool.

Once cookies are cooled, in separate microwave-safe bowls, melt orange and purple melting chocolates. Spoon a small dollop of orange melting chocolate onto a purple cookie (and vice versa), and place a chocolate drop on top. When chocolate drops set, use decorating icing to draw witchy faces on the marshmallows, then dip into the “head” into the melting chocolate, and place the hat on the witch. The sweet flavor will make anyone fly off their broomstick!
