"Younger" Stars Hilary Duff And Sutton Foster Answer Everything You've Been Wanting To Know

In which Hilary re-creates that iconic Disney Channel wand promo, Sutton talks outrageous sex scenes from Season 4, and more.

Hilary Duff and Sutton Foster are back once again killing it onscreen with Younger, and to celebrate the new season, the stars of the show stopped by BuzzFeed to answer everything you've been dying to know.

We had the duo play a little round of truth-or-dare giant Jenga, in which Sutton dished about the most challenging scene this season, Hilary got dared to prank call a friend, and much, much more. Here's what went down.

TRUTH: Hilary, do you have any plans for new music or a tour this year?

BuzzFeed

HD: No, I don’t. I don’t have any plans for new music or a tour this year. But there’s always next year!

TRUTH: Last season Younger really pushed the bar with some outrageous sex scenes — is there anything this season that’s going to top that?

BuzzFeed

SF: Yeah? Yeah. Yogurt?

HD: Oh yeah.

Is that all we get?

SF: That’s all you get.

HD: Yogurt, mmhmm.

DARE: Hilary, can you prank-call a friend?

BuzzFeed

HD: Like, right now? Let’s prank-call my assistant. Okay, what am I gonna say?

SF: You could say, like, your pizza delivery is on the way.

HD: [on the phone] Hi ma'am, uh, you won a free pizza!

Hilary's assistant: [on the phone] Are you guys serious?!

HD: See, I’m terrible.

Hilary's assistant: You what?

HD: You're just getting prank-called on BuzzFeed right now.

Hilary's assistant: I knew it!

HD: You guys, the problem is I’ve done this before.

TRUTH: Sutton, if you could be in any current Broadway show, which would it be?

BuzzFeed

SF: I don’t know! Everybody’s killing it right now. I would work backstage at A Doll’s House, Part 2, just so I could see everybody act. I would be, like, the backstage person who opens the door so that I could watch everybody act, because all four of those actors are amazing.

TRUTH: What was the most challenging scene you had to film for Season 4 of Younger, and why?

BuzzFeed

SF: Probably — we have a big fight scene, the one at the bonfire. I think that was really hard.

HD: Yeah, where we were, like, drunk.

SF: We were drunk, and emotional, and we had to yell at each other. And it was cold. That whole part was really hard. All the stuff that we had to go through, especially at the beginning of the season, was really hard.

HD: Yeah.

SF: We were, like, fighting and stuff, so I didn’t like that.

TRUTH: Sutton, what Broadway role would you love to play but think is against your type?

BuzzFeed

SF: Sweeney Todd. [laughs] It’s completely against my type. I’d love to play, like, a witch or something. Or someone mean and vicious and evil and kills people. Cause it’s completely different from me. That sounds so delightful — um, it would be fun to do something that’s unexpected.

HD: You have played a lot of — like, you were Fiona in Shrek, so you were a troll.

SF: Ogre! Yeah, but I’m kind of ogre-ish.

HD: In what way?!

SF: She was a princess who burped and farted! I can sort of understand that. [laughs]

DARE: Hilary, can you re-create the iconic “You’re watching Disney Channel” footage that went viral?

BuzzFeed

HD: Did I nail it, or should I do it again? I did something with my hair, didn’t I? They were all half-ass! I had been there all day.

What’s the story behind that?

HD: It’s so ridiculous. It’s so funny though. So we had to do the thing and then they put it in CGI, the mouse ears. And then they made us do it like 900 times. And I think I lost all personality at that point. Plus, I was, like, a pubescent teen — I was like, What are they making me do, this is invisible! But Raven-Symoné was nailing it!

When that video starts, had you already been doing that forever?

HD: Oh, all day! I think I had shot the beginning of Lizzie McGuire with all those bouncy balls, and I was like, What is this last-minute thing?

SF: Oh, I can’t wait to watch this.

HD: Oh, it’s so good. It’s like Hilary with a lot of attitude. Like, What are they making me do? But now I’m happy to do it, because that was hilarious.

TRUTH: What’s the funniest thing on social media you've seen about yourselves?

BuzzFeed

HD: I mean, it’s all kinda funny, right? I mean, the Disney Channel thing coming out, that was pretty funny. Memes — I just posted the other day that Lizzie McGuire had Bitmoji before everybody else. The [vote for Hillary] “I’m With Her” that was for me [was funny]. I would, like, paint the White House pink, so definitely don’t vote for me. [laughs]

There’s all kinds of stuff that comes out all the time and it kind of tends to go in one ear and out the other. Sometimes I laugh about it, sometimes I’m a little offended! And other times it’s all so fast-moving that none of it really sticks. Like, I don’t even see half of it. Most of the time I’m seeing it, it’s, like, old.
