"Bel-Air" Season 2 Is Over, So Let's Talk — Tell Me If You Agree With My Opinions

Let me start off by saying I DON'T LIKE PHIL. Whew, glad I got that off my chest. This man is PHILLed with too much pride and selfishness for me to like him. He is NOT my Uncle Phil. 😤

I honestly don't like Uncle Phil and Aunt Viv together. I think she deserves a husband who supports her dreams and is not out entertaining meet-ups with his ex.

It's kinda messed up how Will did Lisa. He said he jumped into their relationship too fast but then jumped into a situationship with Jackie even faster lol. It's not fair how he's playing with her heart—one minute in Lisa's face and another minute in Jackie's....

I love Jazz, I really do, but he is too insecure. I'm not about to sit in a restaurant watching your card decline multiple times, AND I'm not finna argue about it in public. It’s better for him to date someone of his _caliber_ (Jazz, I think Coco Jones wrote that song for you, hehe).

LaMarcus is a much better match for Hilary. He understands being in the spotlight, he's confident and well-paid (yeah, I said it), and he knows how to apply PRESSURE. Sidebar: I'm glad Hilary decided to join him in Paris. Bon voyage, sis.

Now, miss Hilary isn’t completely innocent. I think she at least owed Jazz a warning that LaMarcus was coming to the art show. And asking your ex for a favor while you’re in a relationship with someone else is a bit tacky if you ask me. I think she needs to sort out her feelings before accepting massive favors from any man.

Drew is literally the worst! I'm glad Carlton knocked that smirk off his face because he deserved every punch!

I appreciate how \*classy\* Aunt Viv is, but sometimes I wish she'd clapback just a little more. She's too considerate of other people's feelings, including her husband's, and I'm tired of people taking advantage of her kindness.

Phil fails to see that his pressure makes Carlton’s addiction worse. He really formed his lips to say that Carlton didn’t have the strength to say "no" to peer pressure meanwhile he’s saying "yes" to his ex. His embrace with Carlton in Episode 10 was very touching, but he's still a hypocrite who needs to be mindful of how his temper is affecting his family.

It turns out, Doc is not the villain. But IDK, it’s something about Suge Knight (lol, shoutout to R. Marcus Taylor) being Doc’s bodyguard that makes me _still_ not trust him.

I feel like Ashley's storyline got put on the back burner this season. It started off strong with her fight for Mrs. Hughes, but quickly faded after that. She's often in the background of everyone else's moment, and I'd like the show to dig deeper into Ashley's world.

On the contrary, I think Carlton \*carried\* the drama of this season with his raw, heartbreaking scenes. His characterization opened up conversations about mental health and substance abuse, and I think his journey in future seasons will shine light on the stigma. (Bravo to Olly Sholotan who gave the most profound performance this season!)

As someone who is from _West Philadelphia born and raised_ (well, kinda), I can confidently say that Will is the realest one! And in true Philly fashion, he is never afraid to speak his mind no matter the consequence. While everyone else in the series is skating around, hiding who they are, or walking on egg shells, Will is being his true authentic self and it is much appreciated.

Ok, Geoffrey freaks me out. He's literally around the corner **at all times**, and... have you noticed that he never smiles? Like ever! 😳

Finally, _Bel-Air_ has to be the most perfect reboot I've seen in a very long time. It pays homage to the original show in small ways that don't define its new and fresh direction. Even the characters have their own arc completely separate from the originals. I'm a beloved fan of _Fresh Prince_, but I must say, _Bel-Air_ has kept me more engaged.
