Basically, Diana's fashion defined the '80s, and Meghan's style will be just one facet of her incredible legacy.

Let's start off with the obvious first choice โ€” their wedding dresses.

Lady Diana Spencer's David and Elizabeth Emanuel wedding dress was called the "most closely guarded secret in fashion history."

Diana called the designers' studio personally to ask them to create her gown. They even made her a matching umbrella, just in case it rained.

Clare said that she and Meghan worked on the design in secret for five months with no one else involved.

After the announcement, the couple did a TV interview together, starting a new tradition for royal couples to follow.

Meghan, being the truly tradition-defying queen that she is, wore this absolutely stunning sheer Ralph & Russo couture gown for her official engagement photos.

When she left the hospital with baby William, Princess Di wore this loose-fitting polka dot dress, again keeping with royal tradition.

Kate Middleton wore a similar dress when she and Prince William left the hospital with baby Georgie.

However, when Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, presented their firstborn baby to the public, she broke royal expectations by wearing this more formfitting Grace Wales Bonner dress.

People praised Meghan's dress because it showed off her post-pregnancy baby bump, showcasing the realities of what a body looks like after childbirth.

Diana and Charles' official announcement was made on Feb. 13, and it hit the newspaper the following day.

For the announcement of her second child, Meghan wore a Carolina Herrera dress that was custom made for her first pregnancy.

Meg, I was there at your wedding to witness this love story begin, and my friend, I am honoured to capture it grow. Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on this joyous news! #remoteshoot #shotonipad #shotbymisan

Diana wasn't always sporting such classic royal looks. As her more casual outfits showed, the "People's Princess" was no stranger to denim.

Some outlets claimed that the Duchess of Sussex's wardrobe choice made the All England Club members upset, but a spokesperson for the club said, "Any suggestion that the duchessโ€™s visit was anything other than a privilege for the club is categorically not the view of the club, and she is always welcome to attend the championships."

Of course, I had to save my favorites for last...
