In interviews, celebrities occasionally have to dodge rude or invasive questions. Most of the time, they handle it politely, but sometimes, they (rightfully!) give the interviewer a taste of their own medicine.
Here are 16 times celebs were rude to interviewers, but for very good reasons:
1. During a press conference at the 2023 Cannes Festival, a Variety reporter asked jury member Brie Larson how she felt about the festival opening with Jeanne du Barry — Johnny Depp's first film as a leading man in three years after legal disputes with Amber Heard, his ex-wife.

When she declined to reveal exactly what the Vogue editor had shared, the reporter pushed, saying, "I'm a fan and I need to know." Then, doubling down on her refusal to answer, Hathaway replied, "I know, but you weren't there."

When the clip when viral on TikTok, some viewers criticized the actor for being a "mean girl." However, fans were quick to point out that Hathaway, who'd previously been the subject of career-hindering public criticism simply for being "too enthusiastic" at an awards show, had a right to protect her privacy if she didn't want to share.
3. In her documentary My Mind & Me, Selena Gomez gave an unnamed interviewer in-depth answers about her very personal song, "Lose You to Love Me." After the singer wrapped up her final answer, the reporter ended things rather abruptly.
