In the current social media landscape, going "Instagram official" is a pretty significant step in your relationship — if you even want to post about your love life online at all.
Celebrities probably know how much attention they'll generate by posting pictures of their partners, which is why some prefer to keep their relationships totally offline. Others, however, aren't at all shy about sharing their love on social media.
Here are 11 celebrity couples who've never posted pictures together on Instagram:
1. Lizzo and her anonymous boyfriend have been spotted together since August 2021.
She confirmed their relationship on Radio Andy, but they've only appeared in paparazzi pictures together.
2. Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn have been together since 2016.
Though they're notoriously quick to like each other's Instagram posts, they've never shared pictures of each other.
3. Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde have been romantically linked since early 2021.
Olivia told Vogue that "it’s obviously really tempting to correct a false narrative" about their relationship, but "what you realize is that when you’re really happy, it doesn’t matter what strangers think about you."
4. The Place Beyond the Pines costars Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling were first spotted together in 2011. Now they have two children.
They've never shared pictures together because Ryan doesn't have Instagram, and Eva's profile is blank.
5. Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost got married in 2020.
The only time Colin posted about their relationship on Instagram was to announce the birth of their first child together.
Scarlett's only social media presence is the Instagram account for her skincare line, but that hasn't stopped her husband from playfully trolling her in the comments.
There are no pictures of the couple — or anyone else — on Robbie's blank Instagram profile. Elizabeth deleted her own account in 2020.
7. Robert Pattinson and Suki Waterhouse started dating in 2018.
The closest Suki has come to posting her Instagram-less beau on her own profile is the framed picture of the two of them that fans spotten in the background of this post.
8. Kal Penn and his long-term partner, Josh, got engaged in 2021.
They keep their relationship very private. Kal told BuzzFeed, "I wanted to be respectful of his privacy...and the fact is that he, like my parents and my brother, really doesn't love the limelight."
9. Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney got married in 2019.
They keep their relationship like Cooke's Instagram profile — private. Jennifer doesn't have social media.
10. Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome have been together since 2011.
Georgia doesn't have Instagram, but Rupert joined the platform to share pictures of their daughter in 2020.
11. Maya Rudolph and Paul Thomas Anderson have been together since 2001. They share four children.
