I Made A Fight Scene After Training With Hollywood Professionals And Here It Is

That time I tried fake-kicking someone in the balls, but accidentally did it for real.

Hi, I'm Krista and I decided it was time I learned how to crush more than just a few glasses wine. It was time to learn how to crush a few...criminals.

I love seeing females kick butt on screen and I've always wondered how they prepare for fight scenes. So, I decided to take a training session with some of Hollywood's best stunt coordinators to make my own live-action fight scene.

Despite being super intimidated, I brushed my fears aside and and channelled my inner badass.

Greg Rementer – the stunt coordinator for the Fast And Furious: Hobbs And Shaw – lead the class. He has also worked in the stunts department for movies like Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War, and Deadpool 2.

In addition, Heidi Moneymaker assisted Greg during the class. Heidi has also worked in the stunts department for countless films, such as Avatar 2, Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War, Captain Marvel, Birdbox, and many more.

To begin, we started with some basic punching and kicking moves. It was kind of like a boxing warm up.

We also did some rolling and scooting moves. They used basic instruction – saying things like, "left, right, under" – to help simplify the steps for complicated-looking moves.

After we had a feel for the moves, it was time to combine some of them together with our stunt partners – like the overhead body slam.

And boy, oh boy, then it was time for me to learn the crotch kick. The secret is to kick the upper side of the inner thigh. You see, the problem is, I have a bad aim and actually hit my partner in the balls. Oops.

Once I got the first sequence down, it looked like this:

The second part of the fight scene included me using a jacket to body slam a guy over my head (again, most of the work is being done by the stuntman...but shhhhhh).

The last part included a struggle with a foam briefcase – you know, for safety, 'cause I kicked a dude in the balls for real earlier that day – and another over-the-shoulder body slam.

Here is the full clip of my live-action stunt sequence inspired by Vanessa Kirby's actual fight moves in Fast And Furious Presents: Hobbs And Shaw.
