A New Study Proves Fathers And Daughters Are Talking About Sex More Than Ever Before

We love the dads of 2017.

Hello, people of the internet. I recently came across this poll that shows today's dads are confident when it comes to talking to their daughters about sex and relationships.

Disney

The poll says young women seek sex advice from their fathers over their mothers. So, BuzzFeed spoke with Paige Whipple from the National Campaign who said, "We conducted focus groups with young women around the country, and many of those women shared they were more likely to talk to their dad about these issues than their mom."

Harpo

It really got me thinking, because the traditional view of daughters only talking to their moms about sex and sons only seeking advice from their dads is just a BS stereotype.

Today's dads are totally ready to sit down for some heart-to-heart time with their daughters.

In fact, 67% of the black fathers surveyed consider themselves very prepared to give relationship advice to their daughters, while 65% are willing to give advice on sex, pregnancy, or birth control.

NBC

60% of Latino fathers said they consider themselves very prepared to give relationship advice to their daughters, and 49% give advice on sex, pregnancy, or birth control.

CW

While 54% of white fathers said they consider themselves very prepared to give relationship advice, 59% feel very prepared to give advice on sex, pregnancy, or birth control.

Fox

The poll surveyed fathers of daughters ages 13–29 and was conducted by The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy.
