This Same-Sex Couple Closed Down Their Comic Book Store So They Could Be The First To Get Married

The shop would re-open when they returned; married or not.

Yesterday Red Pegasus Games and Comics in Dallas posted this sign announcing their front window.

Owners Kenneth Denson and his partner Gabriel Mendez-Denson waited outside Dallas Country Records building to hear the verdict on whether they could be legally married.

The couple have been together for 15 years.

Kenneth told BuzzFeed News that they stood outside the building, paperwork filled out in anticipation of the verdict.

You can see them on the left, waiting for their marriage certificate in their store's branded T shirts.
