According to an article in today's New York Times, "The Return of the Interview Suit," somber suits are back. Perhaps it is a result of a sober market or maybe the trend is due to millions of people now looking for work. Either way, casual business styles are seemingly becoming a thing of the past.
And that is creating confusion, according to the Times' Eric Wilson:
For a generation of young people who were recruited to technology, financial and news media fields right out of college, and who may now be competing to hold onto the jobs they have or to find any that might be available, figuring out what exactly is the modern day “interview suit” is not so easy to do.
So what is today's proper attire for that big interview or pitch? How do you look sharp and professional without coming off as stodgy?
