Did You Know That There Are Abandoned Military Bunkers In San Francisco?

There are! Attention Urban Explorers; across the Golden Gate Bridge in Marin County there is a little place called Point Bonitas, where the civil war era bunkers still stand. It is quite an eerie sight against the bay area cityscape.

1. Tunnel of Death

To start, visitors have to drive through an abandoned looking one way tunnel that almost seems like a time warp.

2. Hiding in the hillside

the bunkers scatter the hillside, overtaken by bushes and shrubs.

3. They are all overgrown, but still accessible if you know where to look.

Basically an urban explorer's playground.

4. Unfortunately, it has also become a Graffiti artist's playground.
