While less grounded than Girls, Love, or Freaks and Geeks, Bob’s Burgers accurately captures raising a family and growing up in ways that are surprisingly relatable, without falling prey to the ‘moral of the story’ aspect that sitcoms centered on families tend to. Tina (Dan Mintz, Last Call With Carson Daly) is the sexually charged pre-teen daughter, who writes fan-fiction about zombies, while the musically-inclined Gene (Eugene Mirman, Delocated) and ballbuster Louise (Kristen Schaal, BoJack Horseman) are the family’s younger children who get Tina into trouble. Prattling off puns at impressive rates, and featuring catchy original songs, Bob’s Burgers is the addictive animated sitcom you didn’t know you needed.
