It only took over two decades to find out what he actually looks like.

You've all surely heard of Ugly Naked Guy, even if you weren't an avid Friends fan. (Wasn't everybody?)

Warner Bros. Television

He was the neighbour who was naked. A lot.

He was mentioned on numerous occasions throughout the show's epic run.

But we never really got to see him, just Monica, Joey, Chandler, Phoebe, Ross, and Rachel's reactions to him.

Which were pretty much always like this.

Apart from on two occasions when we actually saw the character. Although we NEVER SAW HIS DAMN FACE.

So up until now we've never actually known what Ugly Naked Guy looks like or who played the important bit-part.

BUT NOW WE DO. And it's all thanks to Huffington Post writer Todd Van Luling, who spent an entire year tracking down the man who played UNG.

And we thank him for his dedication. For years people thought actor Michael Hagerty, who played Mr Treeger on the show, was also Ugly Naked Guy.

But alas the Huffington Post's investigation revealed this to be wrong.

Hagerty told the publication: "I never played the Ugly Naked Guy. IMDb, the information is close, but a lot of times it's very, very, very wrong. And that said, I'd rather be known as Mr Treeger than the Ugly Naked Guy anyways."

But after more digging we now have his identity: Jon Haugen. He was cast as an extra and therefore was never credited for the two episodes he was seen in.

And this is what he looked like at the time. This is Ugly Naked Guy. FINALLY we know.

After he was eventually tracked down, Haugen told the Huffington Post:

There's only one Ugly Naked Guy, man, and that was me. The reason I never came forward was because I was just keeping it mellow because Warner Brothers was keeping it mellow. They wanted everybody to have a guess who I was. I wasn't really expecting them to call me back for me to do it again. It was the best time in my life, I was the man.

So now we know.

We're so pleased that mystery has been solved.
