Selena Gomez Breaks Down In Tears As She Dedicates Award To Friend Who Saved Her Life
"To be honest, I think Francia should be getting this award, because she saved my life," Selena said as she accepted Billboard's Woman of the Year award on Thursday.
Back in September, Selena Gomez revealed she received a kidney transplant from her friend Francia Raisa as part of her lupus treatment .
The pair have since spoken openly about the surgery on several occasions.
And on Thursday night, Selena shed a tear as she dedicated her Woman of the Year trophy to Francia at the Billboard Women in Music ceremony.
Selena brought Francia along as her date to the ceremony and they cuddled as they walked the carpet together.
And when she was presented with the accolade by actress Elle Fanning, Selena got emotional as she looked back at Francia.
She told the star-studded crowd from the stage: "To be honest, I think Francia should be getting this award, because she saved my life."
She then choked back tears as she apologized, while turning to Francia, who looked equally emotional.
