Millie Bobby Brown Has Called Shaving Her Hair Off The "Most Empowering Moment" Of Her Life
"As I looked in the mirror I realized I had one job to do. Inspire."
Anyone who's familiar with Millie Bobby Brown will know her as Eleven from Stranger Things, and therefore know her for her iconic buzz cut look.
Obviously, she's not always had the iconic shaved head.
Well, now the actor has looked back on it once again and revealed it was "the most empowering moment" of her life to date. Millie shared a small clip of the image overhaul on Twitter on Sunday night, telling fans she hoped it would "inspire" them.
The day I shaved my head was the most empowering moment of my whole life. The last strand of hair cut off was the moment my whole face was on show and I couldn’t hide behind my hair like I used to. As I looked in the mirror I realized I had one job to do. Inspire.
And it's not the first time she's opened up about the big move. She told Vulture during promo for Season 1 that her parents hadn't wanted her to do it, but she knew she had to for the character.
I had very long hair and I cut it all off for the part. I read the script and I was so happy with my character and I thought, This is how it's gotta be. My mom and my grandpa were like, "No, you can't do that." It took me 12 years — well, 11 years — to grow something. [My hair] wasn't thick, but it was long. And then they shaved it all off and it was very hard for my parents. But I convinced them. I was like, "Dude, it grows back. It's fine."
