Jason Biggs Offended A Lot Of People By Tweeting A Joke About Malaysia Airlines

Not the best timing, let's put it that way.

Yesterday a Malaysia Airlines plane carrying 298 people was shot down over Ukraine.

Which led to this poorly timed joke by American Pie actor Jason Biggs on Twitter shortly after the news broke.

So Twitter, of course, immediately exploded with outrage.

Mainly because of the timing of it.

Way too soon for a joke like this; families don't even know yet RT @JasonBiggs: Anyone wanna buy my Malaysian Airlines frequent flier miles?

Good comedians understand timing, the others, not so much.... RT @JasonBiggs Anyone wanna buy my Malaysian Airlines frequent flier miles?

Too soon. Those two incidents is not the airlines fault. RT @JasonBiggs: Anyone wanna buy my Malaysian Airlines frequent flier miles?

While others were simply disgusted by the content.

Messed up and callous "humor" RT "@JasonBiggs: Anyone wanna buy my Malaysian Airlines frequent flier miles?"

WTF is wrong with you?! RT @JasonBiggs Anyone wanna buy my Malaysian Airlines frequent flier miles?

Not funny... RT @JasonBiggs: Anyone wanna buy my Malaysian Airlines frequent flier miles?

It's fitting that Jason Biggs' character on OITNB is a douche.

Although some took it more lightly.

@JasonBiggs I'll buy your frequent flyer miles.

@JasonBiggs fuck it, that was funny.

@JasonBiggs Great job getting some publicity for yourself!!! You rock! ❤️

Hey all you 'too soon' a**holes- it's a f***ing joke. You don't have to think it's funny, or even be on my twitter page at all."The idea that I wouldnt have any empathy 4 the victims or their families because I make a joke is absolutely ridiculous. U know that, right?"Truly- you losers are literally trying to find s*** to get angry about. Channel your issues elsewhere.

Although after some thought the actor decided to delete the whole string of tweets and put up this apology.

1). Hey all- ok, so- I am deleting my previous tweets. People were offended, and that was not my intent. Sorry to those of you that were.

2). This is obviously a horrible tragedy, and everyone-including myself- is sad and angry about it. Sending positive thoughts to the

3). victims and their families. P.S. No one is making me send these tweets- I simply understand that my comments might have come off

4). as insensitive and ill-timed. For that, I apologize.
