You've probably opted to order two 12-inch pizzas because, yeah two pizzas is OBVIOUSLY more than one pizza, and you were hungry...Well friend, I have some shocking news for you...
Twitter user Fermat's Library did a little math for those of us that are geometrically challenged and discovered something shocking:
Here's a useful counterintuitive fact: one 18 inch pizza has more 'pizza' than two 12 inch pizzas
Yes, one 18-inch pizza is actually bigger than two 12-inch pizzas. Or in other words, a medium pizza actually gets you more pizza than two personal pan pies.
A whole 28 square inches more pizza!
Also, you get more crust with the two smaller pizzas, which honestly is a no from me, dawg!

This is proof that math is important:
