Movies I'm Dying To See In 2022

I will take every precaution to see these films on a big screen.

We finally started to get movies back in 2021.

Now, we don't know every movie that will be released next year.

From indie darlings to movies added to the schedule for later in the year, it's impossible to know what will end up being among our favorite movies of the year.

But of what we do know is being released, here are the movies I am going to be marking my calendar for.

A movie about early Hollywood is like catnip for me. And the cast Damien Chazelle got for this movie? I mean, I'll see anything Margot Robbie is in, but along with a cavalcade of up and comers, we've got Brad Pitt, Tobey Maguire, Olivia Wilde, and Flea in this movie.

    Screen Crush / Via

Finally, a different Bat is leading a movie. Move over Bruce Wayne, Barbara Gordon is here to kick ass and save Gotham! I'm so glad we've got more badass ladies coming! And she's wearing the purple suit!

    Creed III

    Slash Film / Via

Finally getting the next film in the Creed and Rocky franchise. Directed by none other than Apollo Creed himself, Michael B. Jordan. I can't to see the next take on this series and how they remix the Rocky mythology this time.

    Don't Worry Darling

    Vulture / Via

A psychological thriller about a 50's housewife played by Florence Pugh is another thing that is like catnip for me. And Chris Pine and Harry Styles are in it? Where do I line up?

    Digital Spy / Via

I mean, an Elvis Presley biopic directed by Baz Luhrmann. What more could you want? I can't wait to see the jumpsuits and the performances, and way into Elvis' story Luhrmann takes.

    Legally Blonde 3

    Variety / Via

Elle Woods is back baby! The thing that gives me hope for this movie is that the screenplay is by Mindy Kaling and Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Dan Goor! I can only begin to imagine what case she's working on that needs her particular expertise, both legal and otherwise.

    Marry Me

    Variety / Via

Jennifer Lopez is back in a rom com! It's like Married at First Sight, but not happening to you and has added movie magic. I'm super excited to see Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson as romantic leads because their energies are very different and I'd like to see how they bounce off each other.

    Collider / Via

I mean, new Jordan Peele horror movie. What else is there to say? Nothing is known about it besides the cast which is comprised of Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, and Steven Yeun. That intrigues me even more.

    Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part 1)

    Marvel / Via

We have been waiting so long for a follow-up to Into the Spider-Verse, and we find out it's gonna be split into two parts? We do not deserve this. But we will gladly take it. I especially can't wait for all of the different animation styles and how they all collide.

    Turning Red

    Pixar / Via

A new Pixar is always on my radar, but this one in particular has peaked my interest. It's directed and co-written by Domee Shi, who did the Pixar short Bao, and it's about a thirteen year-old girl with anxiety. I will prepare myself for the tears now.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

    Collider / Via

Nic Cage's movies until the last year or so have been, shall we say, not well received. But, after last year's Pig, I'm super excited to see what he does next. And what's next is him getting meta and playing himself in an absurdist comedy, I'm all in.

What are you looking forward to seeing next year?
