I Tried To Maintain A Healthy Lifestyle And It Was NOT Easy But Damn I Felt Good

    Am I doing this right?

Do you ever see those posts on Instagram that make you want to never touch a pizza again and join a gym? Yeah, me too. So, I decided to try and join the #fitfam and this is what happened:

I'm Kelsey. And I'm the type of person who follows a lot of healthy, active people on Instagram...

... but doesn't follow their example in my own life:

So, I decided I would try and get healthy and live the fit life in a way that worked for me.

To start, I sat down with some of the healthiest mofos I know. They gave me some tips on how they stay fit and what motivates them.

One hack they told me was to drink more water. Because apparently sometimes you're just thirsty and you don't ACTUALLY need that candy bar? Who knew?!

After chatting with them, I did what anyone who wants a quick fix does: A juice cleanse.

Then, I sat down with trainer to the ~stars,~ Harley Pasternak. He told me that, as it turns out, not all juice is great. He also told me that getting in shape was all about leading a balanced lifestyle. Even if that meant working out different parts of the body for just five minutes every day.

And even though I told him I was SUPER busy and didn't have time to get in shape... he reminded me that everyone has the same amount of time in the day – it's up to you how you spend it.

So, I decided I would start getting healthy TODAY. I even dragged my producer and director on a run with me. And it turns out... running isn't for me, either. I had to get creative if I was going to get into working out.

So, I went to the beach. (Well, I went to an indoor gym with sand on the ground).

And DAMN, it is hard working out in sand, y'all. I was incredibly tired by the end of my workout.

The beach was fun, but it didn't feel like ~the one~ for me. So, I went to Cirque school to try an even more unconventional workout.

Here, I realized my coordination was a little... off. And while it was super fun still, my search for the right workout continued.

My third workout I tried was rock climbing. And surprisingly... I loved it. It occupied both my mind and body and it was FUN.

Now all I had to do was start eating better. I started making the healthy recipes my trainer had given me and before I knew it... I was making an actual lifestyle change.

The biggest part of my journey was learning that weight loss didn't equal success. Getting healthy was about a lot more than just a number on a scale.

I didn't think it would work for me... but if I can do it, any one can. Like, really... ANYONE CAN.
