Find Out Which Influential Architect Should Design Your House

**(1887-1965)** Your favorite view is one of the nature that surrounds you, but you don’t want to sacrifice beautiful space. LeCorbusier was one of the first architects to really utilize an open plan to create integrated and flexible spaces. Many of his homes used long, horizontal, windows to showcase the beautiful environments of France.

**(1912-1988 & 1907-1978)** A modern home, but not the boring kind. Ray and Charles Eames somehow managed to take the modernist experiments of case study houses and create one which was distinctly theirs. Built from a select palate of materials (intended to create a prototypical home that could be easily replicated) the Eames’ Home in California was light and airy, with rooms of verticality and horizontality.

**(1867-1959)** Whereas many buildings long to stand in contrast to the surroundings, you are looking for one to stem from its environment. Perhaps the most well-known American architect, Frank Lloyd Wright’s work spanned over 70 years. His organic architecture draws from the American plains, long horizontal homes which typically drew from abstracted natural patterns and colors.

**(1914-1992)** Modern and beautiful design is important to you, but the space should also feel like home. Lina Bo Bardi was known primarily for her work in Brazil, and her own glass house shows her love of modern architecture along with her desire to create a space where a life would be lived.
